Best Benchmade ever

For me it was and is, the now discontinued AFCK model 800. Next up is the McHenry & Williams 710. For a great budget Benchmade, look no further than the model 550 Griptilian.

Got all three of them, so I got the best of the crop from Benchmade. Any others in their lineup? Heard that the 705HS was made in small qty. What do you guys know about this?

I think you'll find the 710 will get alot of votes, especially the M2 version. It gets my vote.

There is a Benchmade Forum knife. A 705 in M2 with BC1 coating and CF scales and a tweaked clip. 100 are being made, but all are pre-sold.

That could be the low quanitity 705HS you are thinking of.

And the 705 or 550 are my preferred BM carry.

Well, I dunno. Over here a guy says that in his experience, "Benchmades are nice but will only last a couple years of daily usage." If that's the case, they all seem like a terrible waste of money to me. ;)

I don't know which is the BEST Benchmade knife, but I really like my Wife's 940. It WAS mine until my Wife decided SHE liked it more than than her Spyderco. :) I was so heartbroken at loosing my 940 that I went out and ordered a custom knife. :D

I'd have to say the 730... my personal favorite anyway. Especially the new one with carbon fiber and M2:)

Oh man, tough decision! I've gotten a lot of use out of my two AFCKs - a regular ATS-34 (several years old), and an M2 version. But lately, if I want to use a BM I usually grab either my 940S Osborne or the Oct 2000 blue handle 940. They are lightweight, solid, and smooth as silk with the Axis Lock. They're not tactical looking at all, which is what's refreshing about them. The 940's rock! :)

AFCK 800HS closely followed by 710HS. Give me an AFCK blade with a round hole and an axis lock and I'll be all set.
