Tough choice, I'll have to go with my M2 710, which just edges out my AFCK. The AFCK and my 735 Ares have the better handles, but the 710 just cuts better, probably because of the recurve and thinner edge grind. Now if they'd only make an Axis AFCK with an Ares style 2 tone handle....
I would put a vote in for the Ares - nice blade shape/grind, great handles, great lock. (actually have a 730 & 735 - both are great). I find it difficult to decide between the 710 & 730/5 - all are great knives, all cut great, but the 730/5 feels nicer in the hand.
Great thread! I own the 705 and the 710. Both are great knives and I love the axis lock. However, the 705 is more "pocket friendly" and I end up carrying it almost every day.
John.
I don't know, can't decide. It is either the 710, the 722, the 735 or the 812. They all just feel great in my hand and do what they are designed to do........wolf
BM43 is pretty nice as well, but my nod goes to the 940, gotta love that axis lock mech, so strong and smooth opening, and the blade appeal to me is high, where I've heard others don't like it but it is a very useful type blade....NOW, I've just worked out a deal for a BM705 and after reading these posts am anxious to get her and try it out for a while and see how it goes!
I just got a 710 about a month ago and like it a lot. I have two 970's , and I recently got two 840bt's that I am very fond of . The 840 is like a large(old timey) Endura, but with better steel.I like my AFO also.
550 Griptillian - NO DOUBT!
At the price it is a steal.
It is big and strong.
Real value for money.
The Axis lock not only locks the blade open - I like the way it grabs the blade closed.
