The 42 is the best knife they have made. My second pic would be the bugout. It's not as nice as a 940 but gets more pocket time

I had the Bugout on preorder. I suspect it's a great knife, but turned it down as I LIKE a heavier knife... Great blade, however. My personal favorite is the Bugout. Also among the top are the 940 and the Grip/Mini Grip.
I think you just managed to insult a bunch of fellow knife enthusiasts whose opinion is just as valid as yours. Whenever I see someone refer to fellow enthusiasts with opposing views as "fanboys", it tends to reveal a non-neutral position. Besides, some of them may be girlsI think alot of this thread is a bunch of fan boys who don't even know what poor qc is. And that's cool and all, it just skews the perspective. But if some folks are happy with poor qc that's fine. I just do not like to spend $200+ to get poor qc on the regular.
My advice is, if you care about qc, buy one in person so you can inspect it. Or if you can't, buy from an online retailer you can trust to inspect it (some will not). If you don't care, then good luck choosing from all the great designs.
Couldn't speak to best, as I have not handled them all. This one is my favorite at the moment.
The Phaeton is really, really nice. I've got one now and I'm very impressed with it. Easily stands up to the other OTF competition.

Joe, your 30 BM's dwarfs my 8, and I can't imagine how many go through Keyman's hands.
Whilst I can't ignore what I see in my own very small sample, you 2 Gentlemen certainly increase my confidence in ordering another BM when the urge arises.
... Why does it seem that the Benchmade critics are the "loudest" posters in a thread about The Best Benchmade?
