Best blade for a Zombie Apocalypse 2023 edition

As mentioned, something from Zombie Tools of course....

Now that the knife market has exploded and there are a zillion new makers and models, which folding pocket knife would you carry if the Undead roamed the streets? I think the Benchmade Crooked River would be a great candidate. What's yours?
Firearms>Bows>Spears/Halbeards>Swords/Axes/Machetes>Large fixed blades>.....folding knife...

It’s one of the OG full sized ones. I think they only made the first ones in D2. The new ones are all Cruwear or something else but no D2. Their D2 is fantastic.

And the Cruwear ones are so freaking great. I adore that steel. I still think the Triad lock would be "stronger", but I would take my full size Adamas in a heartbeat (especially since it's in my pocket as we type). However, what if I break an omega spring? I've heard they burst into flames and explode when that happens ;) In all honesty, if I were dropped in the woods with a folder, the Adamas would be my pick. Fantastic durability to edge performance well above a CS in AUS10 in my experience.

However, you are 100% correct. Benchmade D2 is excellent stuff. The best D2 knife I own is a Claymore.

...but damn is Cruwear the bee's knees.

All right. I need to know what kind of zombies we're talking about.

First, are they walkers or runners? Second question: what kills them? Can a center-mass shot do the job, or do they need a really close haircut? Or, worse, do they need cleansing fire to truly kill them?

If they're walkers that go down with a chest shot, then it's whatever knife I can carry with a 12-gauge shotgun. If they're runners, it's whatever knife I can carry with a repeating shotgun.

If removing the brain box is the only thing that stops them, it's whatever knife I can carry with a shotgun loaded with mixed slug and shot rounds. Make them buckshot, not birdshot in any case. Since rules of engagement are likely no longer a thing, if I can pick up some flechette rounds, that would be even better.

I think you get the idea, so far. If I need to use my knife, I'm probably about to become a zombie, myself. Granted, we're in a world where zombies are actually possible, so I suppose that the main characters could do the job with a knife.

The problem is, even in this world, I doubt that I would have enough plot armor to escape. But I'm damn sure going to give my story a loud, gory, spectacular ending.

Oh, yeah. What about the ones that need to be burned to a cinder to stop them? A Milkor, loaded with thermite grenades. In fact, I think that might be my answer for any zombie scenario.....

My son has the mini in Cruwear and it’s badass. Feels every bit as “brick sh!thouse” as the biggun, just smaller.

I’ve had many a triad lock CS and I’d take the Adamas over every one.

If we're talking about The Walking Dead-style zombies, where you are trying to penetrate the skull, I would opt for something spike-ish with a triangular or round cross-section. A sturdy icepick, maybe.

Am I going to be killing zombies with this knife? If so, then the Opinel N°13. If not, then a bayonet with a firearm attached.

I'll let y'all look up the pics 😉.

The old classic zombie thread. Next up would be bears, cougars, hogs, snakes and wolves. We need to come up with new monsters. How about a herd of wild elephants on Main Street; which knife would you use to hamstring them?

Perhaps something like this:

Leatherman and Sillcock key in the pocket, a 18 inch Tramontina machete on my back, and a Becker BK-7 on my hip.
