Best buck knife

Like the vantage pro but the heat treat on this one was over done.

A little too brittle for me.
Hope you called them about it, they're good people who take care of their customers.

How did you break that? Ever heard of a prybar or screw driver?
That is just abuse. This knives are thin behind the edge not ment for hard use.

I love my 110. The 916 Bowie is also an excellent looking knife, even though I've never had the pleasure of owning one.
916 looks good but tiny short thin handle that makes it almost unusable or at least hard to be used well.

124 is my favorite fixed blade, folders i like many of them. too many to pick just one.

Just hoping that buck would reintroduce the scout 107
Really think it's buck's best outdoors "steak knife" ever,
Amongst other things...

You know looking back now I should’ve called them about it but I didn’t. Th knife gave me so many other problems with the liner lock moving around and going to hundred percent lock up. The changeover from a full G 10 handle to the G 10 inserts kind of annoyed me. Regretfully I ended up Junking it.

My favorite buck knife is the paradigm pro. I removed the springs and like it that much more.

Yeah, I've noticed that. I've seen these custom versions of the knife, where they've made it into a hidden tang for a bigger handle, which looks pretty sweet.

Girly, the 107 is the Scout. The handle is micarta. Blade is 440C steel. The sheath was Buck's first drop in pouch style sheath. Blade is 4"- 3 7/8" in length. It was first brought out as a paring knife in a 3 knife set named the Empress Trio set w/ walnut box in 1972. Later brought out
solo as the Scout w/ that sheath in 1976. DM

The simplicity is so understated that one doesn't notice its ergonomics.
Absolutely brilliant!
I can already picture a fringe buckskin sheath
With a kydex or some other moulded plastic insert...

Currently I’ve really been liking my 632.

That's an awesome looking blade. Haven't seen it before. Can you still get these somewhere?

ETA: OK I see them at online retailers like wally and big river, interestingly, not on the Buck site or typical knife dealers. Also I see this guy has a recurve, didn't notice that from your pic at first. Still a good looking blade.

Thank you David for this info.. Was just going to post a few questions on the BUCK forum pertaining to this knife.. Thanks..:D John

Right now I’ve got a 110, a 303 slipjoint and a Vantage. The 110 and 303 are perfect. The Vantage is rough. The quality is there but it definitely needed a few more minutes getting Fluff and Buffed. Plus I’m not crazy about the tiny flipper.

My favorite “ever” was a 501 that I got for Xmas when I was 11 or so. My first real knife. And ultimately the reason that, 35 years later, I’m here talking to all you other guys(and gals) who are knife knuts.

Thanks for bringing up the SK blades 110 and the copper and clad aluminum micarta 110's I didn't even know they existed I may have to pick one or the other up even though I have no idea what I'd use them for.

I think my favorite is the Vantage select, it slices great, it's easy to sharpen and the one I had came out the package centered and ready to go.

My favorite is the small Selkirk fixed blade. Great general utility knife for outdoors stuff. The Prince (503) is my favorite small folder which I keep at my desk for random stuff.

The 703 has been my favorite since I bought my first one in the early 1980's. Unfortunately, discontinued around the turn of the century.
