I've seen quite a few concerts in he past 40 some years, the first one that I remember,Mom and Dad took us kids to see Hank Williams Jr,back in the early to middle 60s,he was only a teenager, dressing and singing his daddies songs.A couple that stand out were Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in the early 70s at a local college fieldhouse,I also saw Billy Preston at the same college, different room.I saw Kansas back in the late 70s,early eighties, that was one of the first that I traveled very far for.I've seen Willie Nelson twice, the second time just a couple years ago with John Fogarty.I've seen Charlie Daniels so many times that I could do his sets by heart.

Hey, Phil, I was at that concert, Roosevelt Stadium! I was cheating on my 1st wife and my date on her husband. Memorable night!!

A favorite for me was Willie Nelson at the Capitol in Passaic. Leon Russell was playing piano. A terrific concert. Or the Doors at Asbury Park!

Win

I haven't been to many, but I'm slowly working on that.

Korn- family values tour in 2006
Staind
Aaron Lewis solo tour
Tool
Disturbed- this years mayhem tour
Slipknot- this years mayhem tour

Hopefully I can see Seether if they stop by. They are supposed to hook up with Staind in October, so we shall see. I'm going to try and get out to Rock on the Range as long as my school finals don't conflict again.

As for the worst concert, that would have to go the 3 days grace. They were truely pathetic, and sounded the best when the Breaking Benjamin singer came out. Lucky for me I like Breaking Benjamin.

- Danzig in 95, body surfed up the stage, and shook Danzig's hand before security pulled me down, that was a blast!!
- Cannibal Corpse, every show is awesome!!
- Hate Eternal
- Rollins, circa 92ish? in support of the "End of Silence " album, very intense performance.
- Pantera, twice during the Vulgar tour, one of the most violent pits ever :)
- Morbid Angel
- New Misfit's
- Motorhead
- Wasp
- Slayer....duh :D
- Juliette & the Licks (Juliette Lewis, the actress turned rockstar) very cool!!
She patted me on the cheek after the show, haven't washed it since :D:eek:
- Immolation
- Suffocation
- KISS

More Geezer stuff. These are my all time favorites that I have been to over the years pretty much in order.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon.
Yes - Yessongs Tour (virtual tie with Floyd.) Rick Wakeman era.
Genesis - Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. Peter Gabriel era.
CSN - a few times.
CSNY - a few times all outdoors.
Clapton - a few times.
The Eagles - a few times.
The Band with Bob Dylan.
Joni Mitchel.
BB King.
Buffett - a few times.
Doc Watson - a few times.
Flatt & Scrugs - a few times.

Why has a 4 year old thread been brought back to life?

Why not bring it back....good thread.
Brings back some good memories/

Win, Roosevelt Stadium huh, I couldn't think of the name of the place, (lots I can't remember from back then). I do remember the field was real muudy, and the seats were all filled. My girlfriend (currently my first wife after 32 years) and I sat on the railing over on the right side of the stage. I remember Steve Stills at the start of his set had an old Gibson strapped on and made the comment, "This guitar costs more than most of you make in a year."

I didn't see anyone mention Dylan. I won't be seeing him, but I intend to walk over to Prospect Park on August 12th to hear him.

My wife and I saw some great Free Concerts in Central Park; Simon & Garfunkle, Dianna Ross, Elton John.

Wow, am I dating myself...

Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (twice). I still can't believe that there were just three guys on the stage.
Dooby Brothers
Queen
Ten CC

Pablo Cruise A group that blew me away when I saw them as a 'warm up group".

Best? The Peter, Paul, and Mary reunion concert in 1978. We were broke, and had settled for "grass" tickets. By chance, when we arrived, a lady was trying to unload some "in-the-tent" tickets as their friends had cancelled.
We picked them up and they were three rows from the stage. An incredible show.

Second might be the last appearance of Tom Russell with his full band. That would have been perhaps in the late 80s. Damn, they were cookin'....

Also have to put the Albert King show at the St. Louis Riverfront 4th of July. This was just a year or so before he passed. The music was supposed to stop when the fireworks started, but the crowd wouldn't have it. Albert played the blues while the fireworks boomed!

I saw Metallica when Godsmack opened for them and it was an insane show.

My favorite concert was David Allan Coe at Pepper's in Burwick, PA. Quite an experience.

Pantera, twice during the Vulgar tour, one of the most violent pits ever :)

Very true!! I saw them with Soulfly a long time ago and left with a broken/dislocated finger. I also had my wisdom teeth pulled the week before the show and got punched right in the face. All of the stitches on the left side of my face were completely ripped out! Still an awesome show!

I remember when I saw Tool on the Lateralus tour, when they only played 4 shows in the US. They were playing in Detroit at the State Theater (now the Filmore). 3 of my friends and I had balcony seats. When we got there 4 guys came up to us and had floor tickets and didn't want be "in the moshpit." They traded us the tickets, not knowing that if you have floor tickets, they are also General Admission so you can go wherever you want. Lucky for us!! What an amazing show!!

Best concert... Mudhoney @ Palladium in Rome, Italy 5/11/92 with Superchunk opening for them. About 750 crazy ass Italians moshing and going crazy! Best show ever.

My first was No Doubt, with Cake and The Vandals headlining.

Right after 9-11, Chimera, Machine Head, and Fear Factory came to play Woodward Park in Fresno, Ca. I crowd surfed and got the crowd chanting "Kill them all!"

Early 01, I saw Henry Rollins do stand up at CSU Fresno. He signed a pack of cigarettes with "killing yourself to live... H. Rollins"

Once I got back from Iraq, I saw a lot of drum n bass dj's in Nashville, TN.
DJ Dara
DJ Sage
Sandra Collins
DJ Micro
many more, but way too loaded to remember

In 05 I saw Cher and the Village People at the Hollywood Bowl, I'm not ghey, my uncle is.

CSN late 80's
Yanni twice
Trans-Siberian Orchestra twice
Fleetwood Mac late 80's

Best show was Pantera 1-16-98 or Tom Petty 7-21-05
Damageplan up close & personal 8 months before Dimes murder is certainly up there.
