Best concert(s) you've ever been to?

A couple years ago I saw Bryan Adams opening for someone ( I forget who ). I always like he songs but never gave him a second thought until I saw his show. He was GREAT!!!!!! He really knows how to get the crowd worked up.

If I had to choose one concert I would say it was George Benson in 1976. It was the first concert I ever went to that wasn't strictly a rock concert. The musicians were cool and mellow working in a nicely staged small venue. It was a real class act and opened my eyes (and ears) to a much broader spectrum of music. It was a tad too "pop" with Breezin' and This Maquerade but his jazz numbers were sinuous and mesmerizing. I'll never forget it.

Oh, and the peyote was fresh and, literally mind-boggling. ;)

This is a fun thread. My favorites concerts were the U2 concerts, especially their last tour. I was near the stage and I saw Bono up close and personal. I wish that I had a better cell phone camera. Here is a list of some other artists that I have seen in the last few years:
U2-Pop (97), Elevation (twice 01), and Vertigo (05)
Sting-96, 99, 05
Elton John- 98, 06
Billy Joel-07
Five For Fighting-07
The Killers-06, 07

Does the Edinburgh Military Tattoo count?

Then there was George Thorogood at BB King's a few years ago .......

Very true!! I saw them with Soulfly a long time ago and left with a broken/dislocated finger. I also had my wisdom teeth pulled the week before the show and got punched right in the face. All of the stitches on the left side of my face were completely ripped out! Still an awesome show!

Cool Story :D that is what makes for some fun memories!! Ya, that was back in 92 and a little known band named White Zombie opened for them, at a now closed venue/bar that was called the Mirage. I remember their only stage effect was a small box strobe light you'd buy at a Spencers store :) Still put on a great show

R.I.P Dime :(

Why has a 4 year old thread been brought back to life?

You can't stop rock and roll:p

Robin Trower and BTO - sold out and I was trolling to parking lot for a ticket (all my friends had already scored). I literally found a guy selling one and was in my seat about 30 seconds before lights dropped.

Bonham - their entire set was Led Zeppelin.

Ugly Kid Joe - in a small bar...they played 3-4 Priest songs in a row...really set the show off.

Pat Travers - really small place, small crowd but he played as hard as ever. I was standing right up on the stage drinking straight out of a pitcher of beer and he kept handing me his picks all night.

Off the top of my head (and not checking my ticket stubs)

Robin Trower
James Brown
King Crimson
Jethro Tull/E.L.P. (Man did E.L.P. blow that place UP!)
California Gutair Trio
Metallica at the Ohio State horseshoe
Man-o-War (actually damaged the venue with their sound, and had to go to 25% of max power. I stayed on the patio, myself)
Santana
Ozric Tenticales
Black Sabbath (orig. line up)
Gov't. Mule
Slayer
Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush
Judas Priest
Jeff Beck
YES
King Diamond
Lynard Skynard
B.B. King

off the top of my head, these were all outstanding shows

A couple that I think I forgot...
B.B. King, several times in college
Koko Taylor, "the Queen of the Blues" several times
A local band at U of Il.,: Catfish and Carter. Catfish was this big ol' fat white guy who played a MEAN guitar. Carter was this old black guy who banged the crap out of an old Hammond organ. Together, with a stray drummer and/or bass, they kicked the be-jesus out of the blues. ALWAYS a great show.
Major Props out to another local band at U of Il., The Mudhens. ALWAYS a great show, I gave them a couple of songs that they always did in their sets... (not my OWN songs, those of other artists that I thought fit their style well)
