Best EDC for under $40???

Kershaw Storm II - a great knife that doesn't seem to get much praise

Oh and for something a little on the smaller side try the OD-1. One of the most talked about knives of the last few months and for good reason. G10, Frame lock, great steel, supper quick.

+1 Spyderco Tenacious
+1 Buck 110, though it may be a bit large and cumbersome for an EDC, depending on what you do ED. Can't argue with the quality, though.
Kershaw Chive is good, if you don't mind very small knives
+1 Boker Subcom/Subclaw
+1 Byrd line

Ok, I'm done agreeing with people

All good.

What about the Buck 112, I think that is one of the most underrated knives in the Buck Line. It's just a slightly smaller 110.

My recommendations would be the Spyderco Tenacious ($30) or Kershaw Skyline ($35).

Honorable mentions would be the SOG Twitch II ($40), Kershaw OD-1 ($40) and Kershaw Zing. Even though I got my Spyderco Native 4 on clearance for $30, I doubt if you can find it for $40 or less anywhere but if you can, that's a good one also.

Some of you may laugh but an old Gerber EZ out works pretty good for me when I'm out in the yard; opens and closes smoothly one handed, so often fits the bill for me.

Ya know, I love the "little" 112. The only issue is that at a lot of places it costs just as much if not MORE than a 110. I bought a 110 at Gander Mountain for $29. I really wanted a 112, but it was $39.00:eek: I've got a couple trips coming up where I'm limited on blade length. I want to get a 112 as a go-to knife to carry. Inexpensive, strong, familiar design to sheeple, non-one handed, and the blade comes in at a capable but not over-kill 3" blade.

However, I think I'm just going to pay the premium price and get a finger grooved model and make a back pocket sheath for it.

Boker Trance. Boker Trance. Boker Trance.

In case you missed it....

Boker Trance.

Good lists.

+1 for Byrd, Boker Trance/Hyper, and Kabar Doziers.

OD-1 is on my radar...

+1

If you have large hands and want a large framelock, this one's for you. And you can get one for under $30. :D
