Best EDC for under $40???

+1 on the kabar dozier, and whislt I have never had one, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Spyderco Tenacious. I think pretty much every review I have watched/read was glowing.

I got the KA-BAR Dozier Large Hunter with drop point blade recently. The blade is thick and looks sturdy.

However the finish is bad as all the corners are rounded on the back of the blade and spine and lock. I returned it to KA-BAR and they sent me another nearly identical defects and all. KA-BAR is looking in to a quality control problem so they say. Anyway if you can live with rounded corners its an inexpesive (Made in Taiwan) thick blade sturdy knife. Its a shame because I really like the knife but the rounded corners on all metal edges ruins it for me.

Just picked up a Junk Yard Dog II PE for under $40.00 What a buy! Hard to beat this one!.
Boatsman

The Byrd Cara Cara is a great EDC! Strong Lock, good ergonomics (much better than the BM Vex in my opinion) and very affordable to replace if lost. The Buck Vantage Avid or Pro would be really good choices. The Vantage Pro will probably be my next EDC purchase.

i have to agree with steely_gunz i carry a buck 110 every day 90% of the time in a sheath on my belt 10% in a leather pocket seath that is very comfortble in either jeans or dress paints the knives are tanks as far as weight is concerned but i would rather more knife than i might need than not have enough and if something does happen to break you get it replaced with no hassell from buck you just send it to them and if it can"t be repaired you get a new one in the mail

I've seen some Kershaw Blurs on ebay going for just under $40. I also picked up a leek at a gun show for $35. Can' beat those prices.

Buck 110 is awfully heavy for pocket carry, and my EDC has to have a pocket clip. There are a lot of good USA made Kershaws in that price range.

Hey.. wondering what you guys think is the best every day carry knife for under or around $40?? Thanks.

I carry this everywhere I go.
VG10 Blade and under $30.00

i am a noob, but i really like the kershaw skyline. my buddy has the damascus version, got it for 46$. the slainless goes for, if i remember right, 30-35. its really thin, light, and solid.

That reason would be the bead-blasted finish of the blade.

correct.. however its disappointing to pay money for a knife that starts to show rust after 3 days of carrying it in your pocket (before even using it). Until Kershaw stops producing knives with the bead blast finish, I wont be buying another one. I do like the Lahar though. Might have to get that one.
