Best EDC under 30$

And neither does mine:

I got for free a Kershaw RJ Martin "Tactical" 1986, with a 3 11/16" blade (almost 3 3/4) and a super positive assisted opening spring that will never cause problems, and, if the edge holds up, it is simply the best folder I have ever owned, better than the $500 Al Mar knife it came free with!: The $500 folder needed badly a professional regrind to be useable, while the free Kershaw, worth about $30 (and free!), took by hand a reduced 12 degree per side edge quite well:

Except for the lack of jimping on the thumb ramp, the quality, execution and especially the design are phenomenal...: Not the typical slab handle but a nicely shaped one, with the flipper acting as an actual guard... Truly the best folder I have ever owned...

And forget the flipper concept: This is so assisted it is basically an automatic knife, without the hassle of automatics... Even the clip design, super small and very functional, is my favourite of all time...

Gaston

 I hear you buddy! if that beauty is any like my smith and wessons, that edge will be around way longer than any of us will! thats a FACT :)

Gaston, will this "magic" Kershaw of yours go through the same "testing" that destroyed that All Mar?

I think this thread must be about dead...it's beginning to attract trolls. I guess everything constructive got said already :)

ive seen a lot of great suggestions. Is the buck vantage pro something to consider, or the buck rush. I really would rather have a liner, frame, or button lock than a lockback. Want to be able to use one hand.

So i have found that i like 5.75-7in knives. Preferably liner lock, and preferably under 30, but under 50 is fine. any suggestions.

I don't know the Buck Rush, but I really like my Vantages (Pro and Select.) I got them 6 years ago, which ended my knife purchases (almost ;) .) They perform well on anything I use them for, take and hold a good edge, and with only a minimal amount of sanding, feel good in the hand. I bought them early in their production runs, which got me a troubled Pro at first, but Buck made it right with a perfect one, and the Select was aces from the start. Buck makes a great product, for the money especially, but a great product.
