Well, if we're gonna get all up under the skin of this topic, we're gonna hafta differentiate between dueling knives, self-defense knives, and just-plain-killing-someone knives.
For a face-to-face fight? The 5. Reach, speed and slashiness count for a lot. Forget stabbery... you get to opening up a person's hands, arms and wrists, they're gonna have a real hard time whupping you. Then... run like hell!
For SD? The 15 gets the nod because it's nearly as wicked, but easier to carry and/or conceal at all times. At close quarters, it would take a motivated (meaning, terrified but pissed) person about 12 seconds to employ a 15 and seriously ventilate an attacker. Then... run like hell!
For just-plain-taking-someone-out? Definitely the RKB. You sneak up behind a bad guy with that thing and take a healthy swing at his neck or noggin, it's gonna be a very short story to tell. Don't forget to run like hell!
