I'm sure this has been done before but what everyone's favorite fixed blade edc.. Rules are blade under 3" and be able to conceal carry on waist.. Sorry for any typos using my phone!

Favourite UNDER 3" that can be concealed carried on the waist ? Thats awfully small for a fixed blade. Why bother...:D

How about a 3 3/4" carried in a pocket ?

Favourite UNDER ... Why bother...:D

Because small FBs are very capable and very easy to use. My favorites would have to be my Doziers. I have an Arkansas Traveler and a Straight Personal. They get 90% of my FB carry now

I also live in Canada and live on a farm so that's my reason for caring but some cops can be dicks so I try to keep it small.

I could carry it on my waist. I just don't.

Bradford Guardian 3 and EK&T Companion are most recent discoveries and my most carried fixed blades. Here's a pic of the Companion, since it's on me today.

For fixed blades I typically carry a bk11, crkt Crawford Kasper dragon, Mora Companion, Boker+ Coye Ridgeback, Buck open season skinner, or Meyerco 18 xray when I'm feeling "go big or go home".

All are above 3"

None are hard to conceal...

Bark River PSK. I've had it for a few weeks and it's small but great. I carry it in a pocket sheath I got for Knives Ship Free.

Sorry this may be a noob question but what brand/model is that knife it is beautiful.

No worries brother, they are all Busse--the dagger is made by their sister company, Scrapyard.

Since the thread has larger blades for edc as well, here is my favorite combo:

--Models are (1st pic) Team Gemini Light Brigade (w/ custom clip point), Hot Diggity Dog Dagger, Hell Razor, and a Custom Shop Game Warden; second pic Son of Badger and an Emerson CQC-13.

+1 for the BK11. The blade length is 3 and 1/4 inches. If your mind is dead set on under 3 inches, the other small one I sometimes carry is a BK13. 2 3/8ths inch blade length. Here they are side by side

Bradford Guardian 3. Absolutely amazing, and the best steel I have ever used.

I have quite a few that meet your criteria. All of the below are under 3" with the exception of the Long Dog Forge knife near the top left (the one with the weiner dog logo):

3" is too small for me but if I was looking for something that size I would look at the smaller Bark Rivers, or a Bradford Guardian 3. I like the looks of the Dozier Personal too.

The reason people want fixed blades is because they are stronger or tougher, but it seems that a fixed blade below 3" will have a small handle that you cannot get a full grip on. And if you can't get a full grip on it you can't safely put a lot of force into it and you don't need the small knife to be stronger. My opinion anyway. I occasionally carry a Bark River knife that is just over 7" total length. I can get my whole hand on the grip and therefore put plenty of force into it. The knife has a relatively thick blade in A2 steel that I'm unlikely to break even if I push hard on it.

There are a lot of 3" fixed blades you can get a very secure grip on (see my photo above). But another reason people want fixed blades is because they're simple and elegant and no-fuss. Also, and perhaps most importantly, you can get a really nice custom fixed blade for much, much less the cost of a custom folder. The average price I paid for the above-pictured knives (almost all of which are custom) is less than $100.
