Just curious to know what your #1 choice for a folding knife is whenever outdoors? Primarily a back-up and for smaller tasks, I think a good folding knife is as good of a companion out in the woods as it is in the City as your EDC. Although, I don't use the same one for both. I'd appreciate pics. Thanks!

I like the more traditional folding knives.I have a Buck 110,Case Trapper and Opinel #7.They're nice.
But the one handers are good too - I really like the Benchmade Griptilian. :)
A SAK is always handy :)

I carry a little BUCK prince. Its slim enough that it carries unnoticeably and does delicate work better than my larger fixed blades.

Al Mar Mini S.E.R.E 2000 is great I think. Held the full size but havn't used it, but I'm sure it would work.

I take a BM Mini-Grip. It's THE best locking folder I have owned to date. It works well in the wilderness, for me.

Emerson A100, THE quintessential bushcraft folder:thumbup:

I really like the convenience and speed of a one-handed folder in the pocket. It's just standard carry for me even if I'm carry a SAK. For backpacking I like the lighter folders...Spyderco Military, Para-Mil, Benchmade's Griptilians (my wife and kids have the mini-grips and love them) or the Ritter/Benchmade RSK-1 (I like the wide blade). Although a little heavier, I've been carrying some of Emerson's folders and really like them.

I won't let myself get caught up with folders. I have a hard enough time keeping myself in check with the fixed ones.

Spyderco Para-Military is probably my favorite folder, ever....

If hiking usually a spyderco Delica, or a mora 545, though a just got a Mini Grip thats hankerin for some pocket time. Anything else where weight really isnt a consideration Ill sometimes use a small fixed blade, a rat 3, BK11 or more often than not, a mora.

Believe it or not this knife has shaped more than its fair share of arrow shafts and Bowdrill kits.
