Ok those are some good picks! I’ve already had a small sebenza but I thought it was too small so im looking at a large inkosi! But I’m open for any suggestions!CRK or Arno Bernard
How is it like carrying an Xm-18?Alphabetical order:
Chris Reeve Knives
Rick Hinderer Knives
Medford Knife & Tool
Spartan Blades (SHF)
Fantastic! How is it like carrying an Xm-18?
Thank you for the info!I really like my large Inkosi. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
If you are looking for something similar to an old school Sebenza 21 and like a larger knife, the Spartan SHF is popular. I think the CRK knives might be a bit more tight on tolerance, but the Spartan knives are hell for stout.
Thanks! I will theck them out, I am looking for folding knives!Fantastic!
Check out the Hinderer thread.
Tons of folks who own more Hinderers than I and can answer more of your questions.
[Also, you didn't specify: are you looking for folders or fixed blades?]
I really like those options! I was looking at the large inkosi but I really like the xm18 and the sng!![]()
Some flavor of Hinderer XM-18 is also an easy recommend. Very different feel, more modular, but great in hand and comes in all sorts of blade shapes (mine is a swedged spear). Hinderer's scale texture is an all-time favorite for me. Like a CRK, made to be disassembled easily for service.

I also love my Strider SnG, but with my Objectivity Hat™ on I wouldn't put it in quite the same league as a CRK or Hinderer. The gunner grip texture is amazing, I like its size and the grips it supports, and it's surprisingly light.

I dislike the depth of the sole scallop on the large Sebenza; the shallower cutouts here feel great. The inlays add a bit of girth but also provide a really secure, comfortable grip.

I absolutely love the scales on the Hinderer!CRKs are nice. But on the small side and thumbstud only. If you like flippers better, or need something larger or fatter, get a Hinderer and max it out.

I picked up a couple each of the last three from members of this forum second hand for sub $400 each all in.Alphabetical order:
Chris Reeve Knives

Spartan Blades (SHF)
I love shiros and I was actually looking at a quantum ursus at recon 1!I’d get Large Sebenza or inkosi. You can also get a Shirogorov second hand in that range.
I never thought much of Shiro until I handled one and then finally bought one. Pretty stunning example of what a frame lock flipper can achieveView attachment 2617572View attachment 2617573View attachment 2617574
