Best Hard Use Folder? Under $75

Talking about what hard use is can be a bit pointless. To see what your knife is to be used for, look at what is covered under warranty. You will find that most companies say they will not cover anything but cutting.
Any knife labeled hard use by its manufacturer should be able to do all the jobs listed.

If the knife is not able to complete these tasks without breaking it shouldn't be labeled hard use.

Ganzo is best for the price, period, Byrd knives are good too!

+1, the price/quality ratio is hard to beat.

Actually, another one to consider is the Gerber Instant. Thick blade stock, assisted opening, buttonlock and ballbearing pivot. Quality is hit or miss tho, and dont even bother with the disassemble, as the screws are probably made from clay.
Again, Ganzo beats it in every aspect for less than 1/2 the price.

Not exactly beefy, more lightweight, but the spyderco Endura would be a good choice. Or the kershaw blur in s30v. It is VERY easy to deassist and me, along with many others actually like it deassisted. You can find a video on YouTube easily.

If you're thinking of getting the Ganzo clone of the RAT 1, don't bother and get an original RAT 1 instead. I have both and the $5-$10 price different is not worth it. Other than that, if you want the best bang for your buck, check out SanRenMu and Enlan. They also have a few "inspired" designs but they're a bit more solid than the Ganzo ones.

Whatever you decide, if you buy from a company with a good reputation and warranty, you have little to lose. Some of the suggestions here in have neither. As you can see, there are pleanty of options to choose from! Good luck on your search. :)

Look at Boker they have endless options at that price point. Also look in the review section of the forums, Mistwalker has done some great reviews on Bokers and he came to the same conclusion I have about their 440c. It is done right, I have an Boker ak-47 magnum and it is just below and very similar to my ZT0200 which is a beast! Also look at Ag Russell I constantly carry a gunstock folder in my business wear. It is thick bladed quality made folder a little smaller than a buck 110 but a lot lighter and thicker blade. I picked it up for about $60. They even have some lockbacks in stag for around that price.

let's not also debate what a knife should be used for here shall we? There's been enough thread like this already. The OP asked a simple question, and you can just share which knife you think is best for harduse under his budget without condescending or turn this into a troll/debate thread.

BTW OP, each one of these are under $75 with CTS-XHP steel. The grip mod i added made them way more comfortable than the plain Al scale, it's like a different knife:

What did you modify your scales with?

I used a gun grip tape, not the sandpaper type, the more rubbery type. I think it's called the GT-5000 gun grip tape. It's holding up pretty well and it makes the code 4 one of the most comfortable grip

Cold steel has some inexpensive, but very well built and priced knives!Kudu and Eland are quality knives, very inexpensive, but perform well.

Ganzo uses hollow stop pins. Mine peened with "hard use". It holds fine with a little extra wiggle in the blade, but still disappointing.

Half the Kershaws recommended don't have a detent. If you remove the assist, the blade will open at will. And it is just my opinion, but the quality of KAI's Chinese knives has gone down significantly over the years. The Link is nice, but I wouldn't consider it hard use with the thin blade stock, thin liner, and plastic back spacer.

The Ontario Utilitac and RAT are decent. I abused my Utilitac bad and the liner ended up gouging on the lock tang. It still held, but had obvious lock play after. The depth of the RAT's lock is not trustable for hard use for me. There are videos of them failing on YouTube with hard use.

I would look at Real Steel. The "Thor" model is next on my list. I love my Gerfalcon but don't trust any knife that has it's stop pin anchored inside G10.
