Best hunter 2015 - FINALISTS CHOSEN!

Here's a few of my personal favorites for the year:

1. This one with DI was engraved by Doug Arnew and went to our own Big Rick:

2. And another from way back in January with mammoth:

3. And a simpler version of number 2 for the K.I.S.S crowd with some cool stabilized dyed maple burl. It may not be as fancypants as some of the others here, but I'd rather stick this one in a deer:

Here are a few a did this year.
1) feather and buckeye burl. This one is for those who like a small hunter. About 7.25" overall.

2) another small one. This one a four bar twist and mesquite
3) Twist and Ironwood

4) CruForgeV and birch bark

Here's the best one I did this year, CPM154CM, double bolsters, mammoth ivory, and scrimshaw by Sherry Sellers.

This one was good also. D2, nickel silver, and jigged bone.

Shane, thanks much for the nomination of my harpoon hunter in the first post. Much appreciated!

Here's another one I did this year that I like quite well for a hunter:

#1: John Doyle W2 steel, with no clay hamon, damascus fittings, bronze spacer and stabilized koa.

John I really admire your hunters so I just had to nominate one in the first post. I knew you had other beauties as well this year, so thank you for sharing another one.

Sandro, thanks for nominating your knives. I had never seen your work before. Those are very nice additions to this year's contest.

Jason: Thanks for the renewed opportunity to show off these outstanding knives. :)

Shane:

Thanks for starting this thread and nominating one of my hunters in post #1. The hunting knife market is VERY competitive and I'm humbled by having some of my hunters nominated by you and Coop.

Great thread.

Wow!!! There is some SERIOUS competition here. Hunting knives are near and dear to me and I'd forgotten that we'd seen so many great examples all across the board. This is a great thread.

No shortage of hunters, just a shortage of hunter glamour shots, so heres a few snapshots. Integrals and another.

Coop, thanks for posting those photos. They all look fantastic.

Tim I'm glad you stopped in to comment. Your knives are superb, and its a not an easy task to pick the best of them.

Kevin I love Haley DesRosiers MS test knife. Thanks for sharing some from your collection.

Great thread idea for those of us who don't make many bowies! Thanks for posting my knife Kevin, in spite of the literal tears I shed trying to finish it last minute for the test I was pretty attached to that little thing. It was a knife I had planned to make for a long time.

Here's a couple more from this last year.
