Best Knife Fight Scene Ever!

Found the "Repo Men'" Scene

I've heard good things about that "Exposure" movie with regards to the knife fighting scenes. If I can just find a copy of the darned flick!
For me, a "best" knife fight scene would mean... well I guess it would have to have an element of perceived realism, that is, what I imagine a REAL knife fight would look like. As such... can't say I've seen a lot of good candidates so far. Most moviemakers in general seem to prefer to make their action scenes cinematic, going for style and visual appeal over verisimilitude.

I haven't seen this is in, well since it came out in 91, but the knife fights seemed very real a the time.

A Grande Arte

Quite right. It always makes me laugh when guys talk about how realistic a knife fight in a movie was. I always wonder "Uh, have you ever actually SEEN a real knife fight?". Guys often mistake "cool" with "realistic".

I've seen countless prison surveilance videos of inmates going at each other with shanks. I've also seen real life videos of guys on the street going at each other with knives. The real thing never looks like the movie version.

I thought we were talking about "best knife fight scene" in a movie...not the REAL thing. Of course we would look not much different from monkeys (that obtained knife in their hands somehow) in REAL situations...you know how beasts roll. And you seem to mistake "realistic" with "REAL" in your argument. You know movies can't be REAL, especially in a knife fight scene. So there has to be some kind of camera work, angles, choreography, and etc. By "realistic" we mean less of that typical over the top Hollywood acting (like the main guy and his enemy counting 1, 2, 3 each time they exchange blows) and more of that "realistic" as in real martial arts and real life paced actions. If you wanna talk about REAL knife fight, you should make a new thread.
