Best Knife You've EVER owned?

reliable, sharp, fun. Just perfect for me

a tired old answer but a two-spring victorinox SAK containing the 6 most important tools for urban survival:

1. knife blade
2. bottle opener cum screwdriver
3. can opener
4. corkscrew
5. tweezers
6. toothpick

Right now it is the Spyderco Caly 3.5 with Super Blue blade steel.

I suspect it will be replaced when the KW Spyderco Para 2 sprint run comes out with Carpenter's version of M390 / 20CV, Dark Green G-10 scales, and the fabulous compression lock and Para 2 ergos.

Quite fond of the Endura3. Rides in my pocket better than anything else and gets the job done. I've got better knives, but the old Endura has been the best for me.

Here she is (got it a month ago)...Justin King Field Model (custom)

Blade length = 4.25" (good compromise between the ESEE 3 and 4)
Blade thickness = 3/16"
Steel = CPM3V
Handle material = G10

The best knife i own, is-well, all of them. If i don't like it & it don't work well, i get rid of it. Luckily i have good taste in knives. I have only got rid of a few & they were ones that other people gave me.

Gen 4 XM-18 3.5" nothing really compares. But dollar for dollar i really like the Greyman DUA. Just wish he made a 3.5".

Really depends on the person and how they use their knife. This is WAY too thin for someone who thinks the ideal woods knife is a BK2 and likes to baton their knife through knots and 6 inch logs, for instance. I really don't follow the 1 tool for the woods idea so this knife is carried in conjunction with something else like a saw or a chopper. Unless it's summer where I hardly need any cutting tool at all. This leaves the knife to be used for "knife" things. Though I'm sure it would do just fine if I had to abuse it. People beat the hell out of moras without a problem and this one has a full tang. I highly recommend that everyone tries a thin knife.

i looked on his site and don't see one with a 4.75 blade,,,would love to get one JUST like yours, very nice!

My spyderco endura, old and beat up but a damn workhorse
This thread is why I bought an Endura 4 Spyderedge recently. I plan to send it in to take advantage of Spyderco's serration sharpening program.

The best knife I own is a small bocote inlaid Sebenza.

My favorite knife is the Buck/Mayo TNT titanium framelock For me, it's the perfect EDC - light, thin, excellent steel with the great Bos heat treat.

I've seen and held MikeH's SR-1 - he has reason to be proud of that knife. I have a Buck/Mayo TNT - super example. I have a recent small plain Sebenza in S35VN - real nice, too. As to 'BEST', I guess I'd have to isolate on my 9/2010 purchase to commemorate my first SS retirement deposit - a CRK/Wilson Combat 'Startac' Umnumzaan. Fine knife - first CRK for me - the most I've ever spent (... or will spend!) on a knife.

That's my favorite revolver, too - a re-issued S&W 2 5/8" PC627 UDR, aka the 'Blood Work' gun named after the 2002 Clint Eastwood movie. That is one smooth knife.

Oddly, my Buck 110 customs - a Benchmade 755 MPR - and my recent favorite, a ZT-0551 - all see more EDC duties. That first CRK is my most expensive single knife... that's got to make it the best, if not my favorite!

the knife that I have always loved more than any other, is my old Randall #11. Perfect performance for more than 25 years now.

It's hard to pin down 1 knife so I'll list categories.....

Folder - Military or Para 2
Fixed - Fallkniven F1 or BRKT Bravo 1
Slipjoint - Buck 301
Multi-tool - Leatherman Wave
