Best knives for the price all around...

Wow, that question will open a can of worms bringing anything and everything because it all personal preference blended with what everyone already have. I could carry a different knife every day all year, but it's hard to narrow down my absolute favorite for the price all around. Now that I've added so many really great knives to the collection, some cheap, some pricey. But I can't say one way or the other any longer because they all have their pros/cons based on "real" intended use.

So a very long winded way of saying.....I abstain from my opinion. Wow, that's never happened before. [emoji56]

The Rats are in a league of their own. I don't know how they produce such a fine knife for so little scratch. In my experience, I have found Buck knives to be an excellent value for the dollar too.

I got this one for $10 and I find it indispensable. I lost one and thought I was ok with using another small knife. After a month I ended up ordering another one.

$60-80 gets you a full sized s30v from a classic USA brand, "Buck", that has some sweet and sexy lines...

I Gotta say, dollar for dollar in all around value, that has got to be one of the best deals out there right now. Even if the s30v is tempered a bit softer then some higher end blades as some have claimed, it is still a better all around blade then most <$80 blades on the market, and actually makes it a bit easier to work with for a novice.

Kershaw I like for those average $40-$100 blades... Then I'd have to say Benchmade. Spyderco is as functional as they come, a knife for every budget too, but their monotonous designs just don't do it for me.

High end; They're pretty much almost all good when you start paying top dollar; personally I like Italian blades though; Lionsteel, Fox and Viper makes some really nice ones.

Low end $20 blades, Buck or CRKT and occasionally some Taylor brands that catch my eye, (schrade, s&w) is as low as I'll go. Usually not bad for budget blades.

I do like some cold steel designs too though. Fallkniven is a favorite designer I have yet to actually own. As well as a bunch of high end customs which I certainly can't afford and also some off brand 3rd party designs catch my eye from time to time.

I have said this before and I will point it out again. Benchmade has a line of Made in USA knives called Lone Wolf. I have the Mini Landslide, which is salt water rated, has an extremely smooth action, and is only about $37. There is a full sized Landslide and there are fixed blades, too. They work well.

Oh forgot the Kershaw tremor damn that's a heck of a good knife big bad blade, and I paid $20 for it increadable deal

I'm a ZT guy first and foremost, but admittedly I carry my Spydercos more than all the others.

One of my faves is the Spyderco Starmate and of course number one is the Vollotton Sub-Hilt.

That said, it was stated earlier in the thread, the ZT0350 and 0450 are great values.

For me, out of the extensive list of knives I've owned, would be the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. Great ergos, a strong, well executed (if difficult for some people to disengage) liner lock. CPM-M4 steel in a high hollow grind. The carbon fiber laminate/G10 scales are just grippy enough without being obtrusive. Yes, CPM-M4 is difficult for the novice to sharpen, but at this price point, its worth the time and effort to learn.

Of all the knives I've purchased for cheap, the Morakniv ones have always been the best knives for what you pay. It's just not normal to get that much knife for so little dough.
