Hi Guys,

i am looking for a lightweight EDC for left hand carry that can take a beating. Something in the size and weight of the Delica. I have a Delica and want to try something else.
Thinking about the SOG Flash 1. What do you think?

thanks

The mini-griptilian is one of the best knives on the market. Nutnfancy has really hyped up the sog flash knives on youtube, but imho they are terrible.

+1 Skyline, spring for the damascus version if you really want something special :cool:

What is it that you're wanting different than the delica? Nothing beats it's combo of thinness, weight and quality IMHO. Are you looking for a larger blade, wider grip, etc. or just a change?

Lightweight is one thing(a good thing) but so is thin. Thats where the Tenacious has started to fall behind the Delica for EDC.

Based on your criteria you're doing pretty doing well with already using the Delica. I'm kinda "late" to seeing that knifes qualities. Been EDCing knives for decades but just recently gave one a shot. I now own three and love them.

The Tenacious is a good knife but almost feels twice as thick.

Some other options for you are the Kershaw Leek. The metal version looks and feels great but the G-10 one would be lighter.

I also 2nd the recommendation of a BM Mini-Grip. Just picked one up and REALLY like it.

I'm gonna start thinning the herd some as the Delicas, Leek and Mini-Grip are all I really need right now.

As for the Flash I...cant speak on it but I did like my Flash II regardless of how it generally gets panned around here. Mine had no play issues.

I'd have to agree and would suggest trying another flavor of Delica...this from someone that would use some pretty pathetic excuses for justifying another knife purchase;). The Delicas are lightweight champs IMHO. Cheers!

Schrade USA SW7 has a reversible pocket clip and ambidextrous thumb stud
for quick and easy blade deployment. 4 3/8 OALc blade cutting edge 3.25".
Most are half serrated but supposedly some plain edges out there somewhere.
Lightweight Zytel handles not very aesthetically pleasing but durable and nice grip.
'Bay prices usually in the $12-15 including shipping. Think it listed for about $45 new.
A nice affordable sleeper of an EDC imho.

Agreed.

I will add that the skyline is one of my favorite EDC knives that I own. But you want a hard use knife and the skyline has a very thin tip.
