Best light weight EDC

Even though I don't like Benchmade (politics:rolleyes:), the Griptilian should be pretty tough, and very different from the Delica.
There's a million Kershaw's I would recommend, but ambi friendly locks are hard to come by.

BM Mini Grips... what is there not to like? I´ve think I found the perfect edc of all time. The NRA Mini Griptilian with S30V steel. Absolutely fantastic. And yes, I like PS blades for edc, not for a survival situation but for edc tasks it´s perfect!
I don´t care much for NRA, so I´ll have to take the good with the bad. This is an awesome little knife!!

Some other flavours of the Delica?
What about Byrd"Meadowlark" or Benchmade "Mini Pika 2" !
Great knives,good quality,but low prices.

Hi Guys,

i am looking for a lightweight EDC for left hand carry that can take a beating. Something in the size and weight of the Delica. I have a Delica and want to try something else.
Thinking about the SOG Flash 1. What do you think?

thanks

I've replaced the D4 I used to carry with a UKPK. Works great with either hand, ambi wire clip and opening hole, FG S30V blade, very light weight.

No one has said the 943 and 940 from BM Aluminum handles ambi lock and pocket clip. Still a full sized knife that is very light.

If you're looking for something around the size of the Delica or SOG Flash 1 you might also want to checkout the Benchmade 960. I just bought one for around $125, it shouldn't be too hard to find one at that price.

I can't think of any design that will outperform the Delica in a lightweight EDC. IMO it is the best you will find for that.

I found that the wave on my Delica was created a higher profile and was getting in the way when reaching in my pocket for my keys or wallet. I am EDC'ing a BM 940 which is perfect for my needs especially while i'm at work in the office.
I'd post a pic but i cant figure out how to do that.

Every SOG I've had sucked. If Price isn't a issue get a Strider PT, Small Sebenza 21, Mnandi or Yuna Eq.those are the best lightweight edc knives I have.

New market:
BM 530 gets my vote. I just bought one for my brother's b-day present and he absolutely loves the axis lock in such a slim knife. The blade comes out faster than some autos ive seen as well.

Used Market:
If you can find one used, my personal favorite is my BM 705. I've carried it every day for 4 years and never know its there.

I'm a die hard Kershaw fan, and I've owned the majority of the knives mentioned in this tread...the 530, as I mentioned earlier, is the right answer. I still can't find more that is less.

Al Mar Falcon is an old school fave, or Eagle if you want a 4" blade @ 2.00 oz.

My BM 940 is a little disappointing truth be told, i have been carrying it around for a few days now and noticed some blade play, which i mentioned in another thread. Anyway it got progressively worse to the point where the blade would rattle against the frame when closed and could be wiggled side to side when locked open.
I had to tighten it up to get rid of most the play and i applied some lock tight to keep the pivot screw in place, so hopefully now it will be ok. But for a fairly expensive blade i'm not that impressed. Maybe mine is a dud or it was sitting in a showroom for awhile either way it doesnt really fill me with confidence. I think i should just stick to Spydie's.
