Best looking fixed blade?

There's been some great suggestions so far.

Also, why do I always want things I can't afford:

All these were under $300

Sean O'Hare, Charles May, and David Mosier

Two more of Davids that were less than $300

Bob Dozier makes some great knives under $300 as well

Have some nice Busse's under $300. Here's one with sheath that was just a tad over $300. An AD.

Many great makers here on BF as well. These NWA's was under $300, and great knives.

I think you have the right idea & hit the bull's eye, (Bravo-1.) I cannot think of a better looking knife, maybe because utility is beautiful to me.

I think you're on the right track with Bark River as many styles as they
produce with wide variety of handle materials.
Micartas are okay but when you add in the beautiful criteria
I think some of the BRK&T woods would be in order. Such as:

I'm glad to hear the finances are looking up so time to go nuts and spend every last cent on knives! Just kiddin.
These Japanese Damascus(VG10 stainless steel core) fixed blades made in Seki City actually go for a very reasonable price. I would call them gentleman's fixed blades... just for future references if you are interested I could hook you up with one starting from $165 for standard black micarta scales with damascas blade and going up a little more for some of the exotic handle materials.

Black micarta:

And malachite which would cost around $225 RRP $336

All the best with your search,

Wow, whats this last one? Looks amazing.

IMHO, the stuff made by Fiddleback Forge is hard to beat when it comes to looks. Gorgeous wood handles, simple but sleek designs...

I live in Sarajevo, Bosnia and have never seen a knife like that.

Hence my use of quotation marks... not knowing what Bosnian knives look like myself, I can't comment on whether or not this design is typical or accurate...

...but it sure is purdy! :)

My prettiest fb is a Bark River Boone - with a bocote handle. Classic lines - like the Buck 119, KaBar, and Marble's Ideal:

I have a hard time getting it dirty - it's almost too nice! The remainder of my Barkies have plain micarta or G10 - their 'least expensive' variants of the models I like - easier to use, of course.
