Best looking fixed blade?

IMHO, the stuff made by Fiddleback Forge is hard to beat when it comes to looks. Gorgeous wood handles, simple but sleek designs...

+1 on Fiddleback Forge. Andy Roy makes outstanding knives.

Look around for a Fiddleback Forge Woodsman by Andy Roy. The most beautiful fixed blades I've ever seen. Whoops, I just looked at the post above mine. Glad I'm not the only one.

Already some wonderful suggestions.

I'll add:

Böker Beauty (the damascus one is actually above your budget):

And in fact, one of my all-time faves is easily in your budget: Finland's Roselli Carpenter - (a classic scandi knife) or for bigger hands the Grandfather or big hunting knife. Very classic handmade from good carbon steel (and an extra hard "UHC" variant is available a well). So simple, so pure:

I just ordered one of these - a Blackjack Model 125 in A2 steel and stag. Cost just under $170. Haven't received it yet, but I've heard good things about it. I think it looks especially nice.

I've also been drooling over some of the customs by Bob Lay, but they may be a little above your price range. This Canadian Hunter in CPM154 and spalted maple burl/sheep horn, along with a very nice sheath runs $499. I want, I want, I want!

This my newest purchase I think it is georgeous. Ok from flea bay but the price was right.

I know knuckleguards aren't very practical, but in this case it can't take away the beauty. Functionality is not always proportional to aesthetics.

As far as pretty, the Buck Special is beautiful to me, especially with a cocobola handle, and you may can find one with Ats-34 or BG-42 or even S30v blade. The fallkniven Nothernlights series is beautiful but doesn't fit your price range. My favorite knifes to look at is a USMC Ka-Bar or SOG Bowie.

No mention of Randalls? Pretty classic looking designs! I've been looking at their catalog this week thinking maybe just maybe...
