Best non slip joint gentleman knife

MY EDC options are Liong mah lanny, DPX Aculus flipper and Ace Clyde........

I've also brought a Leek in Blue and DLC black since it matched my tie and suit combo that night. I knew i was going to be drinking a lot and didn't want to be upset if I lost it haha.

I know the feeling on sunglasses, and mine are prescription. The only time I take my glasses off is at night reading on my phone and sleeping. Lost my Oakley's in the Caribbean the morning of my sister's wedding. Ugh. Lost a few others both glasses and sunglasses. Luckily I have an in so I no longer have to pay $500+ for new ones.

I forgot to mention the BladeHQ exclusive Kizer Feist front flipper with marbled CF, and also an exclusive the Real Steel G5 Metamorph.

The old Spyderco lockback Kiwis were great gentleman knives. Especially the one in carbon fiber handles, but could be hard to find nowadays.

Spyderco sprint run Baby Jess Horn in VG-10 with the grey G10 handles.

Sweet little knife. Gets sharp as hell and cuts like a bigger knife, really.

You can clip it to the pocket, but I simply drop it in as it is small enough to do so.

Makes a fantastic money clip.
Interestingly, I had the BJH in my wish list/shopping cart of an online Canadian retailer for a few weeks and ever since there seems to have been a resurgence in the popularity of the knife (here and on the Spyderco Forum), the price has "magically" jumped by thirty bucks. Oh well maybe the Kiwi 4?

Maybe “gentleman’s knife” is subject to interpretation. My preferred carry for dress-up occasions is the ZT 0460.

I need to go look at the CRK Mnundi again. I know I don't want damascus and that appears what the current batch are mostly at KSF. Still on the high end of any knife I might buy to use.

I don't really have a dress up knife as I seldom dress up beyond khaki's anymore. The Small Tinker goes with me just about everywhere.

Specifically a wedding, or just nice clothes when you don't want to look "tactical"? As mentioned, the Mnandi's clip looks more like a pen than a knife, as do many deep-carry clips. But why bother having a clip at all? if it must lock, something smallish (or smaller) and light loose in your pocket would be less conspicuous. A simple Opinel No6 (I like the bubinga wood with polished blade) would suffice, and wouldn't send people running. Or an Alox SAK with a single spring or maybe 2.

My personal favorite, and what I might consider (for me) the best "pocket knife" out there is the AG Russell 3" Midlock in carbon fibre or the extremely similar G.Sakai Preppy. I'm about 99.9999% certain that G.Sakai made the older AGR knives because the Preppy is nearly identical. Nearly, but not exactly - the handles appear the same, but if you stack one on the other, the curves are ever-so-slightly different, as is the blade, particuarly how the edge is ground, with the Preppy seeming just like the AGR but after years worth of sharpening worn into it. Better F&F on the AGR as well. Granted, this is comparing several Preppys to my single AGR, but with the several Preppys I bought (both CF and silver twill), they each had a tiny bit of lock wiggle while the AGR is solid. I have not yet tried the newer Chinese made one. The main thing though is that they're flat and extremely thin. Slightly thicker than 3 pennies. And weighs 0.68 ounces. True, the blade is only 2.5", but for a dress-clothes situation, do you need more?

That only works with a kilt;)
And your point?
Kilt with a 'Prince Charlie' jacket, vest and Tux shirt along with a bow tie is as fancy/formal as a tux.
:)

(and gives you an legitimate excuse to carry a knife in your hose. You can have an folding knife in your sporran, too.)

I have several gents. I think my Mnandi is the classiest of them all. William and Henry makes some beautiful knives, but I only have one of his cheaper knives and don't like it nearly as much as my Mnandi. I have 3 Massdrop Gents. One with custom Macassar ebony scales, one with custom black and white ebony scales, and one with the rosewood scales. I love that knife for it's simplicity. I have a Zieba MS3 that is very nice. Another that I somewhat consider a gent is the Blink Blades Sphinx. I have the Tanto, but I wish I would have bought the original, but I like it a lot. The action is excellent! Spyderco Kopa is pretty nice and the Pakkawood dragonfly is dark nice as well. In the end, my Mnandi is my favorite. Soon I am going to buy a Brad Zinker Mini Urban Trapper, FR Slim or a BO. I am going to wait until a knife show to buy one of his customs because I want to see which scales I like the best. I don't want another titanium or carbon fiber scale knife. I have a Brad Zinker Mini Tanto that I absolutely love. It's super thin and light. Of all of my Gents, that's my second favorite behind my Mnandi. My Blink Blades Sphinx is my third favorite and has been my EDC for the last 2 months.
I also just got the WE Knife Anodyne and that is a beauty! Excellent action and a Ti integral frame is hard to beat. It's expensive but they're are pretty limited edition.
Depending on the amount you can spend, there are a lot of gorgeous gents from custom designers.

There have been some great recommendations so far. A deciding factor for me is how the knife will be carried. For casual clothes, I usually carry tip-up, clipped into a pants pocket. At a certain level of dress, I don't like the way that looks. So I switch to a shirt, breast, or vest pocket. Tip down with a flipper tab works very well with the first two. Vest can go either way with the right size of knife but this can be a good place for front flippers.

For me dressing up is a clean pair of jeans, favorite belt buckle, my grandfather's bolo tie, and a clean flannel shirt. ( Even then the bolo tie is the only change from my everyday casual wear in the fall and winter )
Most of my knives being traditional qualify as is so I can just go with whatever that day, which would only be Christmas as that's the only time I " dress up "

My only objection is the scale material - G10 doesn't say "Gentleman" to me.

I'll toss in the Moki Serapis in checkerboard MOP.
