Best non slip joint gentleman knife

For a breast pocket (or even shirt pocket) CRKT CEO. It's certainly inconspicuous and one could argue carbon fibre is dressy, but it isn't the most practical knife for all tasks.

I'd like to make a special mention of the Benchmade Saibu. I just got one and I'm really loving it. Although a bit modern looking, it wouldn't look out of place in fancier settings. It's also just about the right size for a gentleman's knife and cuts like a laser.

My only objection is the scale material - G10 doesn't say "Gentleman" to me.

Yeah, there's truth to that.

I had one of the original BJH back in the day that was clad in white micarta. An elegant little piece.

Was hoping Spyderco would go that direction with the latest sprint run, but ya can't have everything I suppose.

Let’s see, gentleman carry... Wood handle makes sense...

Some guys might lean towards a Kukri but I think something more Texas gentleman. Maybe go with a Hinderer Ranch Bowie with the vintage walnut.

Benchmade Northfork wood handle.

It’s similar to the Saibu (which I also recommend) but much more traditional and has a bit better/smoother action.

Will look good with a suit or blue jeans.

I've never heard that micarta much more expensive than G-10. I'm not asking for inlays or scribing, just keeping an elegant design elegant.
But I admit I will be buying the next sprint run if they do it right.

What's the best non slip joint gentleman's knife..like you could wear to wedding etc?

I'm not saying it's the best option for anybody else, but my "wedding and funeral" knife is this.

I looked at a lot of the offerings that intend to fill this role, finally coming to the conclusion that a gent's knife has to fulfill expectations as a cutting tool, and expectations of being non-threatening. There are plenty of knives that do that, but I didn't like any of them.

The Skeletool gives me options in addition to a knife, and the carbon fiber adds a touch of class.

More important, is that pliers-based multitools don't seem to get lumped into the same category as knives; they're over there with the Swiss Army stuff, and the keychain prybars, so they short-circuit the.. gentle souls... who get nervous about anything sharper than a pair of nail clippers.

Another good one is the Spyderco Ikuchi. I'll be having custom Macassar ebony or black and white striped ebony scales made for it.

Crap, I sometimes hate threads like these. Makes me want things I didn't know I needed to want. Or wanted to need? :D

Here are some of my most recent "non slip" dress ups. Along with....a Gentleman's Kukri.

How "Gentlemanly" are we talking?

Jared Oesser would be my recommendation!

But they are not inexpensive, or easy to get.
