Best Physical Knife Stores in U.S.

St nicks knife factory. There are three but I like the one in gulf shores (foley). Small store packed to the hilt with everything from dime store junk to the finest William Henry's and reeves.

They are my go to store to try out knives before I buy them!

I'll cast another vote for New Graham. Very nice store and the dealings I've had with them both online and in person have been exemplary.

GP Knives outside St. Louis, MO is really awesome. The staff was awesome to talk to and their inventory was really astounding. If anyone of you forumites are out that way, I HIGHLY recommend checking that place out.

They are right off I70, I stop every time I go across country...unless it's Sunday when they are not open :( Bought a sebenza there and my first flipper, the Eros.

I am waiting for a central Fl. Recomendation.

Ruff's Saddle Shop outside of Umatilla, FL. It's in Lake County. Can't get much more central than that in FL. They're online presence is Cowboy Knives.
Pretty decent selection from major brands. And he has more in stock than he shows on his web site.

Blade HQ.

Just South of SLC in Lehi, UT.

In New Jersey - Cutlery Mania in Fairfield.
In New York - JT's Knives in Port Jervis.
Both shops have a great assortment on hand, and the customer service from employees is excellent.

If your ever in the Los Angeles area, check out Recon 1 in Tarzana.
Awesome selection and he can always do better than tag price.
If you like Chris Reeve knives, he has a very large selection folders and fixed.

I do like New Graham store in VA. It is not large, but it's packed with cool stuff! My favorite has to be SMKW and being in TN, I visit there three or four times a year.

No one has mentioned Sparks knife shop in Louisville KY.

My vote is for Grand Prairie Knives in Troy, Illinois, about 20 minutes east of St. Louis in good traffic. I have been a regular for twenty years although I cut down my number of purchases about ten years ago, and I am cutting back even more because most knives I like are north of $100, I love their selection, and the people who work there tend to really like knives and are helpful.

If you're ever in the Denver, CO area there is RMSGear or Rocky Mountainan Specialty Gear. It's mainly an archery store but has a fantastic knife section.
4298 Kipling St, Unit B, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

AGRussell in Bentonville Arkansas is a nice stop. Country Knives in Intercourse PA is a nice place to look but their knives are MSRP.

There's a small store in Oklahoma City that's worth checking out. It's Knives & More on MacArthur Blvd. The store's a mess and it's only open from like 1-4 tues-fri, but the guy has a little bit of everything in there. CRK, Benchmade, Kershaw, Zero Tolerance, Pro Tech, Microtech, Spyderco, Falkniven, Knives of Alaska, tons of traditionals. Lots of old hard to find stuff A couple other places that have a good selection are Little Joe's Boots and H&H Shooting Sports. They have a lot to choose from, but the prices were full retail on the stuff I looked at.

By far the best one I've been in is SMKW near Sevierville, TN. The selection is crazy, and the displays are pretty cool. We have to stop in on our annual trip to Pigeon Forge/Cades Cove, much to my wife's dismay. A guy can spend a lot of time in there.

When were you at Knives & More last? I wasnt sure if he was still in business.

Im sorry, but Im going to have to disagree with those who selected SMKWs. It a tourist trap, an entertaining one, but not worth the poor service, inflated prices, and lack of knowledge in those that work there. I know it's huge, a popular stop, and they support/do a lot for the hobby, but downstairs is worthless and the best knives are displayed on the wall. Im sorry but it's not worth it.

Ive been several times hoping each time will be different, but it never is and always seems to disappoint more each trip. The folks that work there are hired retail that know nothing of knives and are just looking for a sale. They work their sections and rarely leave to help in another.

Anyways, being from TN I really wish I could agree but I just cant.

Here's a map I made for Southern California...
Nice map. Advance Cutlery also carries CRK including the Inkosi and custom large 21 models as well as Kershaw, ZT and Benchmade. Notable is the complete absence of Spyderco. There used to be an Advance Cutlery in all the local malls, but there is only the one you listed remaining. Plaza Cutlery is perhaps the top blade shop in all of CA. Turner's Outdoorsman (multiple locations) generally has a good selection of Benchmade as well.
