Photos Best Slipjoint of 2017 List (Give Away)

This 25 is about as beautiful as a knife can be IMO...

...Thanks for this opportunity.

I need more information. Like, right now.

EDIT: I found it. How are you liking it though? How's the W&T? Half stop?
I really like it. I consider it one of my "gentleman's knives" so I carry it when I'm dressed up ie: wearing pants. lol

It also means I don't do anything really hairy or taxing on it so I can't speak much about the wear and tear on it. Only negative is I wish it was smoother in opening. But continued use or opening/closing should smooth that out for me.

My understanding is Puma has discontinued it, but I was able to pick one up from (dealer reference removed). Don't know if they still have any in stock. There were some also being offered by another seller on Ebay. I actually purchased from him first, but our crack postoffice took a month to get it to my local PO, and then mysteriously decided it didn't have enough postage and sent it back to Germany. That's when I found the (dealer reference removed). At a better price too!

My favorite this year----from last!
I recently saw one of those banana shielded knives the other day. Pretty cool. I think it'd look great around my Christmas tree this year. Thanks for the chance.

W&T here means "walk and talk", meaning how well the action feels. Good W&T would mean that the action is smooth and snappy, poor W&T would mean inconsistent pull, and lack of snap (weak and wimpy). You still answered my question though, thanks.

I can find them easily enough - in fact I found a similar Puma model, the "Armino" in abiona wood that is absolutely gorgeous. I wish the steel was better though.

The tradtional knife from 2017 I choose is a custom from Philippe Boyrie.
Capucin knife, friction folder, blade around 8cm, xc75, etched
The pic is from the maker himself.

For me the best slipjoint of 2017 would be the Maher&Grosh Yankee Whittler by GEC, unique pattern with top notch construction. Bought quite a few knives this year but these really do it for me. Hard for me to pick which handle I like better so the picture is of both. Thanks for the chance Mike!

Thank you for your generosity Mike! My favorite slipjoint produced in 2017 is a small JH Lloyd swayback in stag - I am really enjoying this little one, and has been very useful despite its size (and its fiddling factor beats those popular spinners by a huge margin). Raul

That's a nice looking little swayback! I like the small pivot with that stag.

Mike that is very generous of you. This thread finally got me to learn how to post a picture. This is my first picture. It was done on a 10" tablet early this morning. The lighting was pretty bad, just as bad as the picture. I'll do better next time.:D

Anyways my favorite Traditional is my 54 but I do have some close runner ups.

I'd assumed there would be a few of these. :) Modern slipjoint perfection.
