who do you train with bro? what kind of training? what strategies did you guys come up with for encounters with four legged threats???[/QUOTE]
I just retired in July after 10 years as a Police Officer. I did 3.5 years undercover covering the racing (gang) scene. Most of my service was performing entrance team function (no knocks, fugitive acquisition, etc.). On the training side, I was a tactical instructor and range master for my department and POST .(Police Officer Standards and Training).
My Dad was an old SF Col. and is entirely responsible for my love of edged weapons. He would come back from business trips and bring me knives from all over the world. Of course, my Mom would take them and hide them. She still hasn't found them.
I have been shot a few times and stabbed a few times. Knives have saved more lives (including my own) more than I can count.
Training: Boxing/Wrestling since about 5 years old through college (NCAA). Martial Arts-My buddy was from the Parker Family. I started that age 11-12 to the present (Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do-Korean and Japanese, Kenpo, Aikido/read: Jack of all, master of none.

Began to get interested in edged weapons tactics about age 11-12. I have practiced everything from Applegate, Escrima, Kali Silat, Cold Steel-Thompson (Hey,It was free-I did learn something), Janich, Keating. Never got around to Kanthawong at the Muay Thai Institute. Knee quit last year.
