Best survival knife around $100? Considering Becker BK7 and ESEE6.

Esee 6 and rat 7 is basically the same thing. Anything from either company works good. Tops is always good. Could always give battle horse knives or LT Wright a try. I'm about to give a GNS a go once I find a configuration I like.

If you can stretch your budget the Esee 6 & Becker BK7 would be my choice, favoring the Esee personally. I have both and both are great.

Those are the two I was deciding between. I couldn't choose so I'm ordering both!!! Does yours have the original handles or the new 3D handles?

Spoken like a guy on a cramped budget!!!😅

Here’s a suggestion a bit out of the mainstream:
Rinaldi Forest Knife, about $65-80. 8 1/4 inches of Manganese Spring Steel with a stacked leather handle. I got mine from Baryonyx. he is often out of them, but you can see a picture there. There are other vendors, who probably cannot be mentioned here, who may stock them more regularly.

Mine came sharp and seems to cut. Beyond that, I don’t know how it performs as a knife, but it is so unusual you will probably want one as an objet, if nothing else. My billhooks in the same steel work great.

Hard to beat a Becker BK9 ... I've had a couple BK7s but traded or sold both and replaced them with BK9s. For me the BK7 falls in that no mans land where it's not enough knife to handle big knife stuff well and it's just big enough it doesn't handle small knife stuff well.
I was thinking the same thing. I admire the ESEE 6 and would suggest it with one caveat- if you have any idea that you might want a larger blade then I would suggest the BK9.
