This list is getting super long, which isn't a bad thing I suppose :)

Anyways, he put a $50 price cap on it, but so many high value knives over $50 were left out (Value doesn't always mean inexpensive). I wanna see some more folders and especially larger fixed blades that are extremely high value!

Also, if anyone has any qualms with any of these being value knives, I'd like to know why (As I don't know everything about all of these blades)!

Awesome! Thanks for making that summary! Here are a few additional suggestions that are within the original $50 parameters.

I feel like I mention this knife in about 75% of my posts, but the Boker Plus Exskelibur I is an absolute steal for $50. You can also find an Endura 4 for $50 if you look around a bit. (I see the Native and Delica made the original list, but not the Endura.)

My collection is mostly folders, but I have a few fixed blades that were under $50 and very well-made:
Buck Nighthawk
Ontario SP1
Ontario SP6

the only knife i own that could make the list at under $50 are a couple small saks.

so how about for under $65?

cold steel lawman and recon 1. best bang for buck knives i own.

no this is not an imposter, its really me.

boker jim burke mini ressurection.

the total package with this folder blew me away at just under 60.

now i sure dont want to start anything, im fully aware of the history, opinions, BUT the cold steel pocket bushman is a ton of knife at around 20. its just not for everyone.

I don't own any of those knives on the list now...

I had a few of them over the years though.

the locking mechanism frightens me a bit.

The Endura really needs to be on that list. One of the best >$100 knives, let alone $50 dollar knives. Plus you get "super-steel". If only they did FFG standard...

Also Cold Steel has some great deals in folding knives with the Triad-Ad Lock, I believe the Recon 1 is around $55.

i can certainly understand that.

until its broken in, or oiled a bit, mine was a bear to close. its never going to be smooth on the close, so its a two handed closer to me, opens just fine one handed. mine seems to have an almost half stop.

one thing is for sure, you dont have to worry about the lock failing on you!

Added! Thanks for the remind, originally I only had folders 3" or under because it was a personal list, and 3" is my legal limit.

Kershaw Ener-G was a pleasent suprise too. For around $20 shipped it's probably the best value I've seen.

I'd like to know where you find OD-1's for $20. Everywhere I look sells them for around $40.

I use Google shopping to estimate prices, guess I was looking at OD-2. OD-1 is around $25 (w/o shipping calculated).

I use Google shopping to estimate prices, there are MANY places selling for just under $20 (without shipping calculated).

I just checked and it showed one place, Amazon for $20, but that price is wrong. When you click the link it shows $37. You might be confused with the OD-2 which can easily be found for under $20.

Good call, I was wrong again lol

great list, i really need to show it to my coworker who is always so proud of his latest S&W noname china steel knife that he got a super deal on because it was on sale at Big 5.

He knew I carried more "expensive"(cheap knives to most of you here, though :p ) knives so didn't talk about his much, until I showed him my Opinel and bragged about it being about $8. Now all the stops have been pulled :p

yeah this proves there is absolutely no reason to own a piece of crap gas station knife. even a $10 opinel will dominate them.
