Blades are nicely polished. I can see blue sky and tree limbs reflected.

Pictures like this makes it a whole lot easier to evaluate how they are compared to eachother.
Lovely blade collection you have!

Do you have some opinions?
I am basically looking for a knife for backpacking where only cutting some firewood for the evening will be needed, no heavy chopping. Possibly building a shelter from some young trees if the tent breaks. But I prefer it to be good for self defence also as I am going to backpack as a gringo in South America soon and that might lead me to get robbed.
Which one of the Gelbu Special and the Chitlangi are more on the weapon side?
Is 18 or 21 inches best? Distance to enemy would be great to have but does a 21 inch become unwieldly? My 25 Kobra is too uncontrollable for an average sized guy like me.
Are my eyes viewing correctly? Is it so that the Chitlangi is slightly more massive than the Gelbu Special? I must say I like the looks of the Chitlangi. Can I go wrong with a Chitlangi?

Looks like there will be a 20" Gelbu Special for me. I'll just hang on to the thought for a while just to make up my mind for sure.
