Bevel Experimentation. . . .

Like the Saturday Night Live car commercial?

Jerry had two teams design the same knife...

team 1 he told to make a hollow ground folder

team 2 he told to design a convexed broad sword

the next step was to drink until he was seeing double and tape both designs above the grinder

we will of course need to see a Nuclear Seahorse side by side......

Epic Fail. . . .

Looks awesome but it is way too deep of a hollow for 3/16th thick . . . . 8" diameter wheel and 1.6 inches high. . . . . . You can literally hold this up to a bright light and it shines through. . . .

Slices cheese like a demon though!!!. . . However, if you try to chop a Buick in half things will most likely go horribly wrong!!!!. . . .

This deep of a dish will however, make for an excellent soup spoon or shovel. . . .

We need to go shallower and bigger. . .

Go big or go home!!!!

Let's drink!!!

That looks like a Horton grind but thinner!

At .730" from the edge. . . nearly the exact middle of the bevel. . . the blade thickness is .032" thick!!!!!

We have been making custom knives with this exact same grind combination for the past 20 years but the real magic is in the ultra view-thru geometry. . .

Jerry  :D

Cool.

I *do* like where you're headed with that idea though...

Imagine a .32 ASH with such a grind... thick as hell throughout most of it and still slices great...

Who's gonna start the Slicer Mistress Death Chat?

.25" and .27"sounds thin for that grind as well...

Isn't MOAB stock .375?

Like a huge fuller with an edge?

.

.
.
Just like I guessed, a huge, wide fuller with a small edge! Looks cool, you just need a 16" grinding wheel or some .500" INFI to start with!

.
