Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Is that an Al Dodge sheath Gary?
Looks similar to the one Fes from NZ had made and I now treasure.
On another matter...I would now like to clear up one of the greatest conundrums that exists between the USA ...and the rest of the English speaking world.
"could care less" the American vs "couldn't care less "the rest of .
It's a very, very simple matter of semantics.
"Could care less " implies some care.
"Could not care less" implies that caring has reached zero. If I was JPs cat for instance I would say "meeoww meows rrreeoww" which translates as "get yer own beer I've got screen doors to rip and my paws need licking".
Hope that clears it up.:)
Puuurfectly clear! (First year English lessons at school include Demosthenes speech training, second year is discovery of the melting pot, third is, hmmm, a week in Brighton. I only remember the last.)
Though in fact I'm afraid she'd just burp after sipping that beer... Ach! Cats are so selfish!:)

Think some *$@%£#&$ turned off the darned internet too, been trying to upload this pic for the past 45 minutes (beer got drunk about 40 minutes ago)! Have a good weekend folks ;)

GT, gotta ask: is that breakfast for dinner or beer with breakfast? Either way,

Yikes. That’s such an awful feeling when you open the fridge and feel a blast of lukewarm air. :( Kudos on your quick thinking on saving the beer. :D

Wrapping up a busy couple of weeks with a very tasty beer and the #14 TC that’s been riding in my RFP today. Cheers everyone!

The sheath was made by Paul Long, meako.

You know that we Americans butcher the the King's English. I grew up hearing "I could care less", said in a very sarcastic manner. I can imagine a cat saying that phrase even more sarcastically then I'm used to.:D

Greg, you caught me! ;) That photo was old, although I did have Canoe Paddler beer with my meal Thursday evening. The photo itself was taken on Father's Day after I whipped that meal up for my lunch. Ever since I visited my daughter in Spain over the 2014 Christmas holidays, I make occasional attempts to cook tortilla de patatas, a meal I was happy to eat hot or cold, at any time of day, while I was in Spain. I never get it exactly right, but I've enjoyed every attempt! :D

Looks like you have a refreshing IPA and a cheery knife there!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Here's another old photo containing the brand of beer I intend to have with my meal this evening:

My garden is essentially a source of drink garnishes. Pickled garlic scapes all afternoon. Now I’m enjoying last year’s in my martini.

Very cool! There’s something really special about cracking open a jar of something you canned yourself, especially when you grew the contents as well.

Thanks for the backstory. My wife and I also enjoyed tortilla de patatas when we were in Spain and tried and failed to recreate it at home. Yours looks quite yummy! And, I agree it’s good any time of day, although I prefer it hot. ;)

Glad to see that you’re keeping up your intake of Guinness. For health, of course, as the old adverts said.

I’m enjoying another refreshing IPA at the moment:

This break in the shade was well earned after this Mora 106 put in a massive turn shaping an eating spoon I’m carving from a piece of fresh black cherry I was able to get my hands on. My hatchet skills have a lot of room for improvement, so the knife put in much more work than it should have had to. It didn’t complain, though.

Some Americans have a slow-burning rage about that very locution.

Well this stuff comes in 4 packs of 330ml cans which I've drank over about 4 hours. It's only 2.8%. Thought I'd try it again as it came up in the lambfoot thread a few days ago. But after drinking each can I've come on with a mind-splitting headache which has taken about half-an-hour to subside...

I had no idea Mackeson was only 2.8! I don't think I've drunk it since they had to display the alcohol content (in the UK)! :D That is weird about the headache  I remember being given a can of a cheap European lager about 20 years ago. It wasn't strong at all, but the guy who gave it to me warned me that if I drank it I might wake up feeling like I'd drunk 15 pints the night before. I'd never even had a hangover before, but sure enough, I woke up with a splitting headache the next day! o_O There was a case reported in the press in the late 70's where one of the big breweries (I think it might have been Whitbread) were planning to launch a new beer. They planned to advertise it with a very macho image, a real drinking man's pint. Then it turned out that the ABV was really low (in fact it was weaker than any other beer then on sale in Yorkshire), so there was some discussion about adding a chemical which would give you a headache when you woke up in the morning, making you think you'd drunk something heavy the night before! They didn't go with the chemical, just launched the beer anyway, and hoped nobody would notice, but it makes you wonder!

It's absolutely bizarre what some marketing men come up with isn't it. And the naivety of some people. I mean how could anyone imagine Yorkshire folk paying money for less alcohol...?? :D

At only 2.8%, it shouldn't have been disabling to anyone trying to respond to that "promise".

When I first started drinking my experiment with mass produced lager lasted about a year then I moved onto cask ale. I found I could drink twice as much beer of twice the strength with zero hangover  Never looked back. So I'm a bit confused by the Makesons.
