Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

At only 2.8%, it shouldn't have been disabling to anyone trying to respond to that "promise".

:D

It's absolutely bizarre what some marketing men come up with isn't it. And the naivety of some people. I mean how could anyone imagine Yorkshire folk paying money for less alcohol...?? :D

LOL! :D Absolutely! I won't even buy decaf coffee! :D

This is as stout as it gets for me these days. :D

Have a great weekend in York David :) Great pics of two of my favourite York pubs  I'm just having a couple of pints of Kirkstall Virtuous in The Social in Leeds, on my way home ;) :D

It's been a while since I've had one of those. When we were kids, my grandparents used to bring a cooler filled with IBC root beer and Canada Dry ginger ale when they came to visit. My parents didn't keep cokes in the house, so that was always a treat for us. I wonder when they switched from the bottle with the embossed logo to the printed label?

2018 Ebony Guardians Lambsfoot 11-3.JPG

A very tasty pint, I thought, this, particularly in the hot weather :)

I was reminded that life is short

So I thought I'd have another ;) :)

Have a great weekend folks

A pint of Rudgate Brewery's Ruby Mild 4.4%. One of my favourite ales :)
In the Blue Bell pub in York.

Then I pootled over to the Ackhorne pub and partook of a pint or two of Acorn Brewery's Old Moor Porter 4.4%.

I like the blackboard sign outside that pub! Agree with all of the statements (of intent):D:cool:

I'm not sure exactly when but its been several years, probably when they changed to a twist top bottle. When I was a kid and got one, I would use my victorinox camping model to open them. That was my first real knife.

Absolutely! You'll notice the other sign saying "No Groups". There's also other signs inside reminding all patrons that cellphone calls must be taken outside. The old landlord who has since left, (a chap called Jim) banned cellphones completely. I remember a few years ago sitting down with my pint. I took my phone out my pocket (to actually turn it off) and Jim walks past and audibly tuts at me :D

It's an absolutely great pub Will, incredible unspoiled interior, they last had a re-fit in 1903! :D

This is the back room. The newest things in here are the custom Blue Bell cushions. Oh and the gas fire, which replaced the real fire in 1980something...?? :D

Hope everyone has a great weekend
-David.

I once went in with ScruffUK. He couldn't drink at the time due to a course of antibiotics :( I had a couple of pints ;) Bought him a pork pie at least! :D

Looks a great place Jack! Hope that pint cooled you off.

Not too bad David, quiet, beer-garden at the back, unpretentious (not a word often associated with Leeds hostelries! :D) I had a cheese toastie with the beer too ;)

Just the job! I have to make a 'sexist' remark though;) If he banned mobile phones then that by default excludes 97% of women who are permanently bonded to their 'device' 24/7 it seems:eek::D
Any spittoons in there? And notices about not swearing in front of women??:D:D

Joking apart, it looks like an oasis of peace and reflection, priceless:thumbsup:

Well this stuff comes in 4 packs of 330ml cans which I've drank over about 4 hours. It's only 2.8%. Thought I'd try it again as it came up in the lambfoot thread a few days ago. But after drinking each can I've come on with a mind-splitting headache which has taken about half-an-hour to subside...

2.8%???:poop: Where's the point?:D And what's that object on the can? Looks like an old fashioned fire extinguisher!:D
Once due to driving restrictions I unwisely tried an alcohol free beer, result a hammer headache borderline migraineo_O Must be the chemicals they dose it up with, tasted foul too.

I like a beer 4.5-7% max. Good strength but still thirst slaking. Bit like aGEC 73 not too big or small.
