Wayward pale ale with oats.
Weird huh?
But be warned .once the growler is opened it must be finished. But then it may be taken and refilled....locally.
This one a souvenir of my bus driving trip to to Sydney to the Wallabies getting flogged by Ireland.

Thanks Cambertree
Mabye it's time to introduce our overseas chums to the concept of the RSL Meat Raffle.

This tray cost me 10AUD.
Bargain or what?
That's some good quality meat.
The Countess and I have won three in the last 5 weeks. That's once a week to the club 20bux of tickets between us.
I tell ya guys..it's good feeling when the Wizards knife all the the way from Leeds
turns a chop into waffer thin slices for stirfry.
Awesome.

Completely contrary to popular belief, 99% of the bars worth visiting in New Orleans are in neighborhoods. I mean: signs on the door saying "be quiet when leaving", doorbell to buzz you in, quiet neighborhood surrounding a rather inconspicuous looking bar.

When I was a teenager, and in my early twenties, pubs here closed before 11.00pm, so I used to do my later drinking in West Indian shebeens. You had to be known to get in, as well as actually knowing where they were! They were pretty fascinating places for a young feller :)

Thanks Cambertree

Really enjoyed my hike along a section of rural Yorkshire canal yesterday. Nice cup of tea, in The Dalesman Cafe to start with, and tucking into a 'semi-beverage' of ice-cold raspberry sorbet and fresh strawberries was a nice mid-point treat in the current UK heatwave (hottest June for over 40 years) :)

Nice scores there Meako, some tasty looking cuts in that tray for sure. Never seen that Wayward Brewing line, down here, but I reckon we're spoilt for choice for excellent local brewing here in Oz lately. I was at my local alehouse the other day (no food served, women welcome;):p) and was pleased to realise that every one of their outstanding beers on tap came from within about a 25km radius. Good to see the Wizard's Blade again, too.:)

These are two of the brews they have on tap. I got into good English Bitters in Yorkshire, and this Extra Special Bitter is an excellent take on the style:

Regarding meat, I'm thankful that I still live in a time and place, where you can go out and harvest your own. For our overseas friends: as most game animals are classed as feral pests here, there are no bag limits or seasons for many of them, and you can be quite selective about cleanly taking high quality meat animals for the plate.

I'm really enjoying your latest run of hiking pics mate. Good to see you giving the O1 Soddie a run, that's one my favourites as well.:cool:

After a hard days work at the beach, a little cool refreshment is in order.

This morning we saw tons of mullet schooling, dolphins, and a couple of rays. Also the weather is gorgeous after traveling through rain all yesterday. Ahhhh.

Jack I'd be interested in knowing what you Brits call a heatwave. Just how warm is it?

LOL! :D Well I bumped into a bloke from Phoenix the other day, here on his holidays, and he was disappointed it wasn't raining! Highest temperature recorded yesterday was 99.3F, and that was expected to be beaten today

Yep... I don't care where you're from. That's hot. :D:oops::cool:

LOL! :D We only get this sort of prolonged hot weather about once every 20 years or so! Usually the newspaper headlines read, "Hotter than -------- (Somewhere in the southern hemisphere, and therefore in winter!)" after 2 days of sunshine, and if it doesn't rain for 3 consecutive days, they're talking about introducing a ban on lawn-sprinklers! :D

Nice 57, Will!

Thanks! It's a useful pattern meriting more attention, don't suppose GEC will do another run this millennium...;) I was on a green theme there as the Pickle Bone scales are a good colour in my view. As for the Old Tom, it's an old fashioned slightly sweet tasting Gin and I prefer Hayman's ordinary blue label which is ultra dry like contemporary London gin. Gin is being made here in Finland, not far from me and it's attracting a lot of hoo-har from the Hipster community, it's made from Rye and has a strong Rosemary taste, I don't actually care much for this Napue Gin and it costs more than the English stuff too, about 45 Euro a bottle as opposed to just under 30 for Beefeater which I don't dislike at all:cool:

I’m with you on that Will. There are a lot of new small distilleries in New England making gins that have way too many flavors. Give me a good basic London Dry Gin any day.

I have to agree with you, Will, concerning the 57 pattern. I actually have three variations of it. -Lance

Right! Gin used to be un-trendy, I liked it that way:D Even Tonic Water tastes sweeter these days.. damn hipster attempts at 'authenticity' just a gimmicky opposite, like some pretentious cuisine styles. I feel an attack of age-rage :D:D

JB man o the dales Nice to see the orange fnf slicing it's way through those tough British strawberries.
I hope they were as tasty as they look.
Yeah Chin the wayward is one of a new wave of craft breweries that is picking up steam in Sydney and beyond.
These places are generally packed .they are friendly.usually located in old industro manufacturing buildings. They feature an ever-changing array of limited brews available on tap and takeaway. Definitely a move away from the VB and Tooheys
factory beers. The competition among these craft brewers is fierce....and as a result there is a lot of expe rimenting and tweaking of recipes.
Quality not quantity.
Cheers.
