Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

I've heard of non-alcoholic "beers", but have never tried one.
Don't plan to! (Yesterday went to a pizza joint with my wife and had a Guinness, some kind of German hefeweizen, and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale--I like to mix it up!)

Me neither my friend, if I want non-alcoholic, I'll drink coffee or tea! :D That sounds like a nice evening :)

Hope all are having a beautiful and relaxing Sunday afternoon:)
I know I am as I just got back from a ride and couldn’t be more relaxed unless I was taking a beer nap :D

I tried non-alcoholic beer once- gave me a headache without the buzz.
I made some low alcohol beer with my dad once- just put in less sugar. I dreamed I was desperately breaking all the capped bottles with a crowbar and there was nothing in them.

Drinking raw apple brandy in cider is a good way to cut your consumption.
Maybe unless you like cider more than I do.

Jack Black Jack Black That Burnt Mil Layer Imperial Stout looked like it could be robust. I gotta find some. Right now, I'm listening to both Frank Sinatra and Billy Idol, alternately. They did it their way.

An olive with AND without a toothpick! Will have to try jalapeño stuffed too. Liked garlic stuffed, but not bleu cheese. Sinatra, not Idol. To each his own. Cheers!

Toothpicks are dangerous while imbibing and think of all the toothpick trees sacrificed for our cocktail pleasures. I am but one man, but I do what I can for the toothpick trees. The olive stuffing was part of a theme, as I grilled smoked nilgai sausage that was stuffed with jalapeno and spicy cheese that we served on potato rolls with sauteed onions, peppers, and mustards. Think of the Martini as a palate cleanser.

My kind of meal! Did you get the nilgai from the King Ranch?

It was very good Stuart, but definitely one to take your time with :) That is a very cool fork, have you had Uri Geller round?! :D He can't sing for toffee, but I like the way that Scorcese uses Sid Vicious' rendition of 'My Way' at the end of Goodfellas

Well played. I got it from a hunting buddy who got it from the King Ranch. Man, is it good!

Jack, I'm going stout shopping today thanks to your post. I wish that I had Geller's help, but I had to do it the old two-step way: 1. Find an expensive steakhouse going out of business because of changes in rules on meals provided by lobbyists to members of Congress and their staff, and grab some forks as they go out the door. 2. Find a pair of needle-nosed pliers and get to work.
I agree with your assessments of Sid's vocal skills and Martin's evocative music selections. We can surmise why Sid's rendition is not on the movie's soundtrack CD.

I hope you find some decent ones Stuart :) I don't know what prices are like there, but here they are wanting the price of a bottle of wine for a can of decent stout these days! LOL! :D That's fantastic work my friend :) Yes, I think, without the context of the film, and compared to the other classic tracks used, Sid would come as a very unwelcome finale to the album! :D

I can find a great one, Founders Breakfast Stout (yes, I like the name) for $2.50/12 oz. or 1.90£; another good one, Victory Storm King Imperial Stout, for $2.00/12 oz. or 1.52£; and a fine one, Lancaster Milk Stout, for $1.50/12 oz. or 1.14£. that's well above what I pay for Bell's Two Hearted ale or Miller High Life lager, but this is sippin' stout. Cheers!

That is a great one Stuart :) Four or five times that price here unfortunately :( Enjoy your sippin' my friend :)

Imperial stout aged in oak bourbon barrels is fine for Fall celebrations. By the way, that is as close as any pumpkin will ever get to a beer that I am drinking.

I wanted to get a better picture, but the rain returned with vengeance after I clicked this one. Too little light when it abated. We don't always get what we want, but we do get a good stout, now and then.

Looks like a tasty stout, Stuart!:cool: Your comment about the pumpkin leads me to believe you're not excited that I saw Pumpkin Spice Cheerios when I bought groceries this morning. ;)

It was/is tasty, GT, and one of the most affordable good stouts around my area. I won't have pumpkin in my coffee or beer, but in pies or ice cream, I'm in. I don't eat a lot of flavored cereal, but pumpkin might be tolerable - and it can be a healthy fruit. So, I'd try it if you bought it.
