Gorgeous knife. Love that bourbon bottle too. Cheers! [lifting my glass of Tito's vodka on the rocks]
Thank you. Tito's is tasty, too.

I'm in a kind of seasonal rut with my beverage choices. Each day I'll have an Oktoberfest (although I think I have them from 3 different breweries currently) or a porter (almost always from Atwater Brewery for the past month) or a Founders Centennial IPA or a Killian's. Here's one with a Vic Recruit:
A stout Primble English jack with a double chocolate coffee oatmeal stout? Why not?

Man, oh Manischewitz, Stuart, that Primble is a heck of a handsome knife!!It was pretty tasty, Dwight. A deep and full flavor. To get a first impression, I drank the first one at cool room temperature (note the loose, foamy head in the glass). I'll try another tomorrow at slightly cooler temp. The label is a bit over the top, but the beer is very good. Then, again, I love porters and stouts. And English jacks.

Thanks for the recommendation, PJohn!May I recommend Samuel Adams' Oktoberfest? Had a couple today; very satisfying.
Knife content: just received MY Ashley's Choice. Posted pics on Guardians thread.
Thanks, Stuart. That's a rut that I could ride in all week, GT, and that ruddy Recruit is the right selection for a refreshing Irish Red.

Well, if you were here I'd offer you one of my last two! (For dinner tonight--with solid food too, of course!).Thanks for the recommendation, PJohn! That's another brew that my grocery store used to include in their extensive beer selection, but I haven't seen it this year. Used to be one of my go-to Oktoberfests!
Another old favorite I never see anymore is Sam Adams' Cream Stout.

Thank you, Jack. As I have mentioned previously, I am lucky to have a regular spot for convivial conversation and imbibing that allows an occasional conversation about knives. My Böker slimline trapper that I carried today was in my pocket when I saw the opportunity for this portrait of my belt-carried Buck 110.

The knife in the right foreground was left to me by the man holding the basketball on the right hand side of the picture, as co-captain of the Auburn University men's basketball team. Cheers to great memories.

Thanks, PJohn; that's a generous offer!Well, if you were here I'd offer you one of my last two! (For dinner tonight--with solid food too, of course!).
Man, oh Manischewitz, Stuart, that Primble is a heck of a handsome knife!!And, with civic pride, I'm glad you enjoyed the Founder's Breakfast Stout. Even though it's brewed in the city where I live, I haven't had it for a number of years because my usual grocery store doesn't typically carry that Founder's product.
Thanks, Stuart.Neither Killian's nor a Recruit are very "sexy", but if I had to, I could happily live out my days with Irish Red as my only beer and a Recruit as my only knife. ("Happily" is probably an exaggeration.)
Sam Adams Octoberfest is my favorite, but often hard to find by the time October rolls around.
You take a great photo StuartIs that a cigarette/cigar case in your top photo? I always wonder that more folks don't carry them
Only one beer in the houseFortunately, it is a nice one
Hope everyone has had a great weekend

Thank you, Jack, for the king compliment on my pics. Sometimes it works, other times . . . My heart is now in pain over the beer drought that has descended on some Porch folk. One beer in the house? Would that I could hand a couple over the fence to you, as I got in a suitable supply of porters and stouts the other day. Keep your powder dry and your beer cool. Yes, that is an old cigarette case that I use to carry 4 or 5 cigarillos with me (currently Excalibur miniatures by Hoyo de Monterrey de Jose Gener). Here it is empty with a similar aged Queen #20 (1949-1948). I need to replace the elastic retention bands someday.

Very sorry to hear that. It is good.Sam Adams Octoberfest is my favorite, but often hard to find by the time October rolls around.
Very sorry to hear that. It is good.
The regular Boston Lager is probably my favorite Sam Adams. Had my first one on tap at an old inn (Where George Washington slept!) in Annapolis around Christmas of 1987. May be the best American beer. That, or Anchor Steam.
I suspect you are very attached to it, but please let me know if I can ever send you a replacement, I come across nice ones now and again![]()

Yeah, I'd drink a lot more of the Sammy Octoberfest if it was around longer. My local bar got kegs in back around late August. May have to see if I can find some more tomorrow.
Et à votre.I am, Jack, and your offer to find a supplement is very kind and appreciated. Two is better than one sometimes.
Dude, they need a good calendar, and I am unanimous in that view. I'll order a Sam's Octoberfest tomorrow in support of your search. I'm just one man, but i do what I can.
Will Power Will, I noted your concern for the recent bonanza of beer in this thread, so (to my wife's delight) I ventured down into the wine pit (like the MOP pit) for our dinner tonight. The G. David Languiole is relatively new knife (sticker still on handle for now), the wine not so much. My wife thanks you for prompting me to pull this cork (the wine in the glass is from a more prosaic bottle so I could have a drink while the Bordeaux took a breather). À votre santé.
