Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Well I may have found it!
Don't like to jump the gun but my quest for the stupidest beer label might be over.
And guess where it's from.
Those people have been on an island too long I think...
That said I couldn't go past it.
Credit where credits due though it is great beer.

Is that a Drop Bear there Meako?! ;)

A pairing of which I’m certain 5K Qs 5K Qs will approve:

Fort Point Nitro Summer Porter and new Rosewood Lambsfoot.

I finally got around to putting a hair-popping 15 DPS edge on it and thought a celebratory beverage was in order. :D

NICE Greg :)

That's hilarious. Thanks for making my Monday :D:thumbsup:

Barely had time for ale last couple of weeks but I did get a pint of Tin Plate Mild (3.6%) brewed by Irwell Works brewery last Saturday. Being served in the 'Wigan Central' a pub in the town of Wigan in Greater Manchester, who conveniently provide a live update of what's on the bar

Tin Plate Mild is a great name for a beer David, and I love the look of those Lancashire crisps :)

Thanks Jack! I’m finding both beer and blade to be to my liking. :)

That's good to hear my friend :)

Not a drop bear JB...they are waay too dangerous....and mythological.
Hey Donn would that be? ....wait for it....wait for it....
The Road to Wigan Beer?(smug intellectual chortling sound).

That's a beautiful pour of a mild beer. Would that I was there.

Yeah I can't remember what it's named for though. Something to do with locomotives?? Crisps not dissimilar taste to those Henderson's crisps

At the mo.

I am a huge fan of licorice and will imbibe anise, sambuca, and ouzo, but that looks imposing (even at 4.3% ABV). I'd try it. just for the licorice love. I fear licorice addiction.

You know Meako why hasn't anyone thought of that before?? :D:D Brilliant!! You need to patent it then sell the rights to Wigan Council for the next Wigan Beer Festival... :D:thumbsup:

I've got to say I like licorice to put that was a struggle. It tasted more of actual licorice root than it did of sweet refined licorice. And can you get addicted to licorice?? :D I can think of worse things to get addicted to
And your right, some pubs can be quite indifferent with their presentation (and quality) but that pub is a tight ship. Every pint I've had in there has been in excellent condition :)

All three of the beverage/blade pairings posted by Stuart, Greg, and David certainly get high approval ratings from me!:cool::):)
Greg, congrats on that radiant new rosewood lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:
Stuart, that Winchester toothpick is a thriller!:cool::confused:
David, good to see the Eye of Sauron back in service after the bent tip!:thumbsup::cool: I'll give any stout a try, but the liquorice has me somewhat apprehensive. (I once tried blueberry stout, but I'm not planning to have more.)

Here's an old pic of Black Butte and Yellow toothpick:

I never liked Miller, myself. The foam is too evanescent, if I mean evanescent. I mean the suds are too thin and they disappear too fast for my liking.

I've heard that Miller tastes too good to hurry through. ;)

- GT
Miller is not a great beer, but it's been around awhile, and it sure goes well with a spicy bowl of chili at the Texas Chili Parlor in Austin. Last time I was there, $2 would get you an ice cold bottle. You need two or three, though!
