That's too bad DavidA pint of 'Red Dragon' an amber bitter of 4.5% brewed by Great Orme brewery in Wales. Sadly it was quite disgusting....

And me!That's too bad DavidMy Son's took me out to a local brewpub where the eldest lives. Dang, I guess I'm old school because I didn't like any of there fancy beers/ IPA's. I mean at least have one domestic beer on hand for the uncouth like me.

Too many bars nowadays carry nothing but "craft beers" and IPAs, and neglect the old standards. And of course, they charge a lot--maybe $8 a glass. Stumbled across "the oldest bar in San Marcos" (Texas), when I heard a grito from inside the bar, and someone said "Come on in!" Didn't want to be rude. Had several ice cold pints of Budweiser for $2 a pop!lol I have a friend that's uncouth![]()

Your right Greg, as mentioned we still need to carry a couple of the ole standbys for the ole time regulars as well.Seriously though, fortunately there is a huge variety of beers these days so there’s hopefully something for everyone who chooses to partake.![]()
Truer words were never written, Greg!I know what you mean. Love the old standards: Paulaner (1634), Guinness (1759), Bass (1777)... Those young pups like Anheiser Busch (1852) need to learn their place!![]()

Love those three beers you named. Had some Guinness this last week (cheaper to get by the six-pack at the store than in a bar). In fact, my wife is making me a Guinness cake (birthday!) Saturday with Bailey's icing! Should I have some Jameson's with it? Irish car bomb of sorts.I know what you mean. Love the old standards: Paulaner (1634), Guinness (1759), Bass (1777)... A big guy and a little guy loading a cannon! But what really stands out is the carving. So utterly simple yet the observer knows instantly what it is. Very nice.
That's just wrong. But then again, you are the Kumquats Haagendasz...A big guy and a little guy loading a cannon!
My aunt finally went to Europe, even thought they still hadn't built a bridge. She came back complaining about the price of Budweiser in Holland.
Thanks Jack, I hope you enjoyed the ginger beer, or at least the thought of it.
Top o’ the Mora, everyone.![]()
