Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

I like my Rosewood with coffee and cream. (With apologies to the Beastie Boys, but it is proving to be a sweet knife. :))

I take my coffee black and very strong, and don't know who Beastie Boys are, but that IS a sweet knife. (Best coffee song is "The Coffee Song" as sung by Sinatra. Don't know how to attach, but you can "google" it).

Edit: here are the lyrics:

"The Coffee Song"

Way down among Brazilians
Coffee beans grow by the billions
So they've got to find those extra cups to fill
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil

You can't get cherry soda
'cause they've got to fill that quota
And the way things are I'll bet they never will
They've got a zillion tons of coffee in Brazil

No tea or tomato juice
You'll see no potato juice
'cause the planters down in Santos all say "No, no, no"

The politician's daughter
Was accused of drinkin' water
And was fined a great big fifty dollar bill
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil

[instrumental break]

You date a girl and find out later
She smells just like a percolator
Her perfume was made right on the grill
Why, they could percolate the ocean in Brazil

And when their ham and eggs need savor
Coffee ketchup gives 'em flavor
Coffee pickles way outsell the dill
Why, they put coffee in the coffee in Brazil

No tea, no tomato juice
You'll see no potato juice
The planters down in Santos all say "No, no, no"<<<

So you'll add to the local color
Serving coffee with a cruller
Dunkin' doesn't take a lot of skill
They've got an awful lot of coffee
An awful lot of coffee
Man, they got a gang of coffee in Brazil!!

Thanks for the kind words about the knife. I take my coffee black and very strong, too, about 95% of the time. In this case we had some cream in the fridge, the lyric was in my head, and the photo idea that popped into my head, so in went the cream. :D

"I like my sugar with coffee and cream" -- Beastie Boys, "Intergalactic", 1998

You're lucky. I'm still trying to forget that I've ever heard them.

Tough crowd. ;) I like them, but to each their own.

Have a great weekend y'all!

Me too PJ, ever since I was a kid  The Beastie Boys are a popular beat combo

Shall we try again Prester John Prester John and JohnDF JohnDF ? :D;)

“The knife is black as the coffee I was drinkin'.” (With apologies to Zac Brown. The days here have been beautiful lately, but the mornings are definitely feeling of Colder Weather.)
I had to Google Zac Brown. Seems like a step in the right direction. :D
But don't feel bad... Most people would say my preferred music sux.

I admire your persistence, Greg, and your ability to tailor your message to your audience!:cool::thumbsup:;)
Like JohnDF, I'd heard of the Beastie Boys (but I didn't get your reference until you explained it ) and had to Google "Zac Brown". But my musical tastes are admittedly quite narrow and outdated (1963-1973??). I always feel kind of bad that many of my students will understand my musical references, but I'm clueless about theirs. :(

Anyway, tonight I was in the mood to "pound some Budweiser" (Joe Schultz, as told by Jim Bouton in Ball Four), then decided I'd prefer a malty, full-bodied, autumnal mead. But I had to settle for what I had on hand:

No coffee for me tonight. A pleasant Manhattan and a cigarillo on the back deck, now that the weather is more conducive to deck sitting (and Porch posting),

But, where are the cigarillos?

Thanks, Jack Black Jack Black for a beautiful cigar carry option. Tonight on the back deck was special because of your generous bounty - Manhattans and English licorice/liquorice (which was enjoyed later with a last drink on the deck).

That's a very nice composition Stuart, sounds like a lovely evening :) I'm glad that case accommodates your cigarillos (I was worried the other might be too slim) :)

Absolutely beautiful weather here this weekend, and after a nice hike, I stopped in for a pint (Dark Star's Hophead)

Both cases fit their roles fine and are classier than their current owner. That's a lovely setting you show, too - nice knife, a cooling quaff, and a sporty chapeau.

Yeah, love that wool herringbone flat cap. Had one just like it years ago. Can't remember if it was from England or Ireland. Or Shetland. Need to get another one, as they are great for cold weather. Not that it gets very cold around here, but it MIGHT get down in the 30s sometime this winter.
