Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Hey Dwight,

The Freedom Reserve Red Lager isn't *Butt-Dumber* Beer ;) it was only bottled by AB for a limited release.

It is inspired by George Washington's personal beer recipe and has a tie-in with American veterans.

“Freedom Reserve Red Lager is the second specialty lager to appear in Budweiser’s Reserve Collection and is inspired by George Washington’s hand-penned recipe from his personal military journal dating back to 1757.”

BTW, It is Outstanding! :D:D

Otherwise, Casa de Oro is AB & IPA free! ;)

I actually have never seen it. I wouldn't mind trying to get a hold of it!

It should be next to the regular Budweiser. Tried it once. It was pretty good.
I usually drink Shiner Bock these days, brewed in the small town of Shiner, Texas since 1906.
My favorite American beers are Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Anchor Steam, and Brooklyn Lager.

It was available summer/fall last year, so it will be hard to find. Maybe someone else will eventually bottle it?

There's a AB Copper Lager one available now, but I haven't tried it?

The Chimay you recommended was outstanding!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I actually liked the red one best with the blue a very very close second. ;)

Maybe I'm a beer wuss these days? After 3 of them, I had to go lay down. :p

I think Chimay & Guinness would make a VERY TASTY black & tan! :D

All the beers I have drank I don't think I have indulged in a Chimay!

Glad you liked the Chimay.
The red is the oldest. My favourite too.
Chimay and Guinness are my favourite foreign beers. Don't know if I'd mix them, though!

Interesting stuff Del!

I am a stick-in-the-mud I guess. Not much on changing what works for me. In the fall I drink Samuel Adams Octoberfest and continue with it until its off of the shelves. Rest of the year is Corona.

At the last family get together we had my niece's fiance (now husband) brought a few brews I wasn't familiar with. These got left behind (which is always a bonus when you throw a party). I'm intrigued so I expect I'll pop one soon.
Don't mind my Tuesday day care center in the background. We have our 2 toddler grandsons one day a week and our downstairs gathering area is where it happens. It takes us most of the rest of the week to recover!
Of course my ever ready Lloyd trapper is on standby to slice cheese or salami or both!
Just wanted to add: I'm not a big IPA fan either.

We have a great local brewer here in the St. Louis area named Schlafly Brewing Co. They put out dozens of different styles, but their stouts and porters are my favorites. They make a Baltic Porter that is amazingly complex and flavorful, and this combo 12 pack has some interesting choices, 3 of each flavor.
