How was the Goose Island, Mark? Any Dutch beers you recommend?

The Goose Island was nice. I've never had a Paulaner Salvador, but really like their Weizen. Did you ever had a Schwarzbier? If you like dark beer, it's certainly worth a try.

Recommendations on Dutch beers, hmm that's a hard one... I don't have a clue about the availability in the USA except for Heineken :D

A few of my current favorites are the smoked Porter from Mommeriete and Nipke (a collaboration), All Black Stout from Stanislaus Brewskovitch and possibly the best IPA I've ever tasted (except for my home brew maybe, but I'm probably alone in that opinion :p:eek::rolleyes:), Mosaic Hop Explosion from Kees:

If I may, gentlemen, I would heartily recommend Grolsch, a Dutch beer that I find a lot more palatable than Heineken.

Drank a lot of Grolsch as a student as I had some "Tukkers" as friends :D (Tukkers come from the same region as the Grolsch factory). Always liked the 1/2 liter bottles:

Did you ever had a Hertog Jan? I virtually don't drink any pilsner anymore, but that's 'my' brand for pilsner.

No, but I will look for it. I do like pilsners.

Thanks for the recommendations, Mark & Vince!:cool::thumbsup::)
Mark, I don't know if they export beer from the US, but you'd probably enjoy some of New Holland Brewery's products, as well as the name of the company. ;)

I'm surprised that it's available over there, but that's good! :)
I drink "The Poet", New Holland's oatmeal stout, quite often. I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but I've enjoyed New Holland's "Mad Hatter" that they claim is a Midwestern IPA. I've had their "Dragonmilk" a couple of times; it's a quite strong and quite expensive stout. (There are several flavors of "Dragonmilk Reserves" that are seasonal and limited release; I've never tried any of those.)
