Lagunitas makes some killer limited release brews!

That they do. Their regular runs pale in comparison.

You need one of these Lagunitas Mason jar glasses.

Yes, yes, I do. Must find one!

Outstanding picture, and both beer and knife are excellent as well.

I’m grilling and knocking back a couple beers this evening, after a long day of yard work.

Thank you, Buzz! Speaking of excellent shots, yours are exceptional. That Beer Scout is just exquisite.

Kelly Brewing Co still uses open fermentation. Historic Maps top the tables in brewery....UPRR map of Yellowstone National Park. Image also posted on The Beer Scout Knife forum as I'm trying to encourage members of the Beer Scout Knife Club to post there as well. Cheers.

I am having some McTarnahan's Amber Ale from Portland Brewing Co. Paired with an exceptional Sheffield beauty and one of my favorite, albeit fragile, pipes.

I am an archaeologist by profession and have uncovered dozens and dozens of broken stems and cracked bowls from these old Kaolin pipes in 18th and 19th Century archaeological sites. Cool to see one still being used. Goes quite well with the copper tankard....you always have some of the best composed photographs. Thanks for posting.

Sure is Vince...cant go wrong with winemaker Jim Barry...
Grant Burge is great too.
Cambertree Cambertree ...yes mate...Olivewood Maserin...I journeyed down to Merimbula at wknd...stopped at a olde worlde village called Cobargo...where a large percentage of the shopkeepers seemed to be women "with boots on";)...it is a colourful place.
I had a look in the RM Williams store and was drawn like a magnet to the knives...there is a huge range of Opinels,Maserins,a few SAKs and even a Taylors Sheffield ebony barlow....things you just dont see normally...
I came away with the Maserin (and the lady running the shops life story:rolleyes:)
Cheers

Cheers Meako!

I checked out the area on a map - I need to get up that way, haven’t been to that part of Oz for years.

Yeah, it’s surprising where you find decent knives for sale here, considering most places who should have them just stock cheapo Chinese stuff like Bear Grylls’ line.

A friend gave me a tip to go and look in a tent shop, and I was surprised to find some Taylor’s Eye Witness stockman, barlow and Aussie style ‘Stock Knives’ (clip and full length castrator/spey blades). Got an unsharpened machete and a cane knife there for less than $20 each.

The cane knife is fit for purpose, once it was sharpened up, the machete not so much...;)

Best selection I ever saw was actually in a gift shop in Darwin owned by an old Chinese bloke whose family went back to the 19th century in the Northern Territory.

When I mentioned it to him, he said ‘Yeah well people up here use their knives hard and have to rely on them. You wouldn’t get away with selling inferior stuff.’

Dylan Pàdruig Pàdruig very kindly gifted me one of those Maserin Plow knives.

One of my favourite ways to while away a relaxing afternoon is to take a nice working knife, and smooth it out, tune the action, sharpen it up and get it just how I like it, before dropping it in the pocket to use.

This one had a beautifully thin blade behind the edge, even before I started working on it.

I’m not sure, but I think the hard timber handles are Santos wood.

I use it a lot in the garden. The other day, I was reflecting how good the edge retention seemed for what I thought was 12C27 or an equivalent steel.

I had a closer look, and the blade’s actually D2! What a fantastic user knife!

Thanks again Brother Dylan!:)

The beer’s another Weihanstephaner hefeweizen. I knows what I likes.;):D

Seeing all the tasty looking stouts and porters, even have me looking forward to the colder weather kicking in here!:D:eek:

Most folks think of California as palm trees and bikinis. Well our part is more like harsh winds and igloos:

Was over at the coast the other day. The palm tree part of Cali, check out this hot blonde on the beach:

When I was in college and lived in Idaho, I always got the question "oh do you live by the beach?" Or "do you surf?" While I was wearing wranglers, boots and a tucked in button up shirt.... Plus I was 325+ pound offensive lineman...LOL

We were over dropping a mare off to be bred in Somis. Only another fifteen minutes to Ventura. They have The Wharf there a huge western store that we like to go to. They claim to be the most western western store! Spencer's Makenzies, a very noted seafood place, was just over a block and up a block. Finding parking for a rig with a 24 foot stock trailer is always a challenge in any town and we were able to park right in front of The Wharf. Bought a new pair of boots.

Cambertree Cambertree I think in this country the ratio of decent knife shops is inversely proportional to the proximity of the closest.
city
ie..the further out in the bush you get ,the more likely they will have some good knives.
On another matter my blurb writing activities are scheduled to recommence very soon.
I will be setting up my
study room/herpetarium/junk i dont know what to do with so pile it up in the corner for now....
Just had to clean the windows....but as we all know one simple task gives birth to several more complicated chores. They all needed major work and a couple of new flyscreens, new track wheels on the sliding door etc etc....most of the windows need re rubbering...thats another job entirely.
Not to worry...but for now I have to go check the ocean.

I thought you'd been scarce lately. Enjoy the ocean.

I’ve worked on a great number of projects down Tehachapi way including lots of wind farms. Is Mojave Brewing down the hill still in operation?
