Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Nice, StoneBeard; a fitting match of knife and libation.

I drank my fair share of Sailor Jerry in college. I also have a friend who got the hula girl from the label tattooed on his arm.

Thanks Barrett. I really like the rope knives, nice to see a piece of slipjoint history come back. That's pretty funny about your buddy  My wife's grandad was a WW2 NAVY vet who served in the pacific. He had one of the original SJ tattoos on his forearm. She always laughs remembering him stretching the skin to reveal the un wrinkled artwork when she was a child.

That is a great looking knife  the blood red bone used on the HJ7 and DRJ has to be one of my all time favorites. Very nice pictures.

Haven't been carrying my traditionals as much lately for some reason. Had this sbj on me though with this awesome beer

Very nice Farmer 38 that one!

I find this German beer very refreshing of a hot summer's day. Or any day for that matter...:D:D:thumbup:

The stainless 15s were a real treat this summer too, I think this WB style Orange Bone is very like crispy crackling on top of roast pork..

Finishing off this weekend with a crisp Moscow Mule and my ebony 14.

Last week, I posted this image. Kris (MTDamascus) sent a PM after seeing it letting me know that the proper way to enjoy a Moscow Mule was in a copper mug, and that him being from Montana, and specifically "the copper capital", he would send a gen-yew-wine copper mug my way in order to rectify the situation. I've seen many instances of generosity on The Porch, but this kind of "out of the blue" generosity is something really special. I raise this copper mug Moscow Mule (complete with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer ;) ) to you, Kris! Thank you for the wonderful gift!

Grilling beer can chicken today. Only one beer went to the bird. The rest is mine!

Good to see you sircharlespiko. The SBJ is looking good. How you feeling about the #14 these days? Great beer you got there, I like all of BP's chili beers

Really like the covers on your #38. I've almost pulled the trigger on one a few times, I've got a bunch of fruit trees I could use it on.How's that hawkbill to sharpen?

Great pic! German beer and stainless steel are two things that rank highly with me

Awesome that you distill your own whiskey  what was the style and age of the example pictured with your #25?

Nice to see your #98 Buzz. From some info I found deep in a thread here it sounds as if there's a good chance that a scaled down version of the #98 will be made on the new #35 frame.

Just what the Doctor ordered...

Nice pics

Awesome display of generosity and a great looking genuine mule cup:thumbup: I really like the hammered copper vice the smooth that I usually see. I also enjoy a good mule especially of the Irish variety made with Jameson.

It's a bourbon kinda day

Thanks bud! That's a 40% barley, 30% corn and 30% rye whiskey, aged for one year in used bourbon, used port wine and new American oak barrels [emoji1417].

Cheers!

Thanks stonebeard,
Good to drop back by. I haven't really warmed up to the 14, so haven't carried it since getting it. My sbj is working great in the small knife department, but I'll try the 14 some day again. The only other hot beer from bp I tried was the habanero sculpin from their brewery, and it was amazing. I haven't seen it bottle here yet, so thought I'd try the air in the mean time. I hope they sell that sculpin here one day. I'm not complaining though. Maui brewing does do a great "hot bonde" that's on tap regularly.
