Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Find drinking whisky, any whisky, is enhanced and more pleasurable for me when a small amount of spring water is added..........this followed from a whisky tasting session many moons ago led by an Islay expert/connoisseur. But, ultimately, what really matters is how each person enjoys their own . Preferably, I find it best taken after dark around flickering flames under the stars with a mate or three ;)

True, too.

This is one of my very favorite stouts but it certainly isn't for the faint of heart at close to 9% ABV !

Paired with a new fixed acquisition. A take on the Puukko style, made in 5160 steel and covered with micarta, designed and made by Bill Siegle. Such a nice thin grind behind the edge, I am really looking forward to putting this one to some good use, it simply melds into your hand.

Thank you, my friend, it is a very nice design and I am already putting it to some work in my kitchen this evening. Bill did a nice job on this one, it's a cutter for sure.

Though not a traditional puukko, it is certainly inspired by such and it is quite a delightful knife. I am looking forward to getting further acquainted with it. Nice composition, Jack, that Alfred Blackwell is always a treat to see.

A bit of Irish for myself this evening. Most of the leaves have come down, which means I'll have to start clearing my gutters and doing some blowing/raking soon. This evening, however, I will enjoy a break in the rain with a wee dram and a pleasant smoke.
