Brewed in Douai, not for small timers! :D

Another great pic of your Lambsfoot Stonebeard

It was a cold, crisp, misty day to go for a walk here yesterday, and nice to warm up in the pub afterwards (a few snacks in the form of chips and dahl, and vegetable pakoras) ;)

Thanks Jack! That looks like a delicious assortment of pub fare making for a fine Afternoon. I do not recognize that jack knife your sporting but the covers look great:thumbup: can you tell me more about it?

Thank you my friend :) The Serpentine Jack is by George Wostenholm, horn covers

Let's raise our glasses to Mr. Jack Black, who I understand is having internet woes that are making it hard for him to be with us here on the Porch. I hope you're at least enjoying a fine tipple while they're getting the technical difficulties sorted out, my friend.

Seriously though, good looking knife! What is it? Any more photos?

Maker unknown in Thiers, stainless, circa 70/80s... Razor sharp and easy to maintain.

Many thanks for your kind thoughts Greg, I hope everyone is having a good weekend :) My home internet connection is still down I'm afraid, but I'm finding solace in Timothy Taylor's Landlord, with a dram of Highland Park on the side, and my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot and Abbeydale Jack in my pockets ;)

Today a friend gave me a beer advent calendar. It has a different can of German beer for each of the first 24 days of December. It being the 3rd, I'm starting behind, but I have managed to catch up to day 2:

Jolipapa, that's a an interesting knife. I like how low-profile it looks despite the number of blades/tools.

I was taking this picture for Beverages and Blades, and look what played on the television. This beer was destiny.

Finally getting a chance to relax today. Drinking my brother's homebrew, Honey Funk, while CE/CF my big Goldman fixed blade. Terrible cell phone pic because all the camera equipment is packed away in hiding.

It's a sign! How was the beer? I've tried plenty of coffee porters and stouts, but never a lager. But, I guess it's a fitting match for cold brew coffee.

The knife is lovely, too. May I ask what it is?

I love the picture. It's got a Stanley Kubrick 2001 "My God, its full of stars" kinda thing going on. :)

Cheers!

The coffee lager was good. Much more mellow than I thought it would be. I thought that I'd be overpowered by the coffee, but the combination was really quite pleasant. The smell was outstanding.

The knife is a GEC Charlie Campagna Texas Camp Knife. It's huge, but absolutely wonderful in every way.
