Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

My wife and I enjoyed the visit, Barrett, although some of the time we were in The Cities it was very hot so we didn't get out to do as much sight-seeing as my daughter hoped to do. Also, we took our little dog Gandalf with us, and my daughter didn't have room for us to stay at her place, but she did have room for Gandalf, which made finding hotels easier. Gandalf also stayed with her when we went to St. Cloud for 4 days. But my daughter has Cash, a young, enthusiastic, semi-large dog of her own, while Gandalf is old and tiny and quite low-key, and doesn't have much patience for Cash and his antics. So I doubt if Gandalf enjoyed the trip as much as I did (although he handles car travel much better than I do these days).

We went out to eat several times with my daughter and her boyfriend, and once even with the boyfriend's parents. We went to a fried chicken place called Revival, an eclectic restaurant called Free House (I highly recommend the Baja Bowl if you ever go there, although my wife would vote for 18" of walleye hanging off each side of her plate), and went to St. Paul Brewing for pizza a couple of times in a renovated Hamm's brewery (the dogs could go there with us).

I suppose if our daughter stays in St. Paul we'll be back eventually, and it would be cool to meet you for a beer!:thumbsup: 🤓 Maybe we could go to that St. Paul Brewing, since I can actually find it without having to use the intimidating interstates! (It's on Minehaha, and from the brewery, I can just drive straight east until I hit McKnight, and then my daughter's apartment complex is just south on McKnight a short way.)

Glad you had a good time, GT, and it sounds like you ate well! Revival has been on our list of places to try. I’ll admit to having a natural skepticism toward southern restaurants in Minnesota 😉😁, but we’ve heard good things about it.

St. Paul Brewing looks like a cool place! We don’t get over that far very often (we’re out on the other side of the Twin Cities), but I’ll have to check it out some time.

I bought this for 9.99 Euro...may not be the best whiskey in town but half the price of what I'd pay in US, (also minus 20.5% spirit tax), so it's a great whiskey! 😂😂
