Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Thanks Gev and Greg - it was a rare time indeed. My posts might be a bit patchy 'til I get back to Oz in mid Feb, but I'm looking forward to sharing some of the great cutlery stuff I've seen and learned on this trip.

Greg, I actually bought a couple of new A Wright and Sons Lambsfoots today too, and promptly put them in the post without taking a photo!

Ah well, I'll have some treats waiting for me when I get back home.

The Unity's a real gem, I'll try to take some pics for the Lambsfoot thread before it too goes in the post to Oz tomorrow.

Jack, I thought it would be fitting that at least one of my new Sheffield treasures should have the faint tang of the scent of 'the Black Stuff' adhering to it, when I get back home!

For all you lovers of Old English Pub style, check out this, my friends:

I'm not sure how I managed to get so far behind with this thread! :D Just catching up now after a couple of days away in Sheffield with Cambertree (Chin) :) Here he is, with our first pint together, at The Fat Cat in Sheffield. There were quite a few knives on the table, but they had been replaced by pies at this point! :D

Must 've been a few pints already, he's drinking the Worcestershire sauce! LOL :D Lots of great pictures, thank you!

I decided to make today special and enjoy a treat this morning.

In the cup is a café cubano: a shot of espresso that was pulled with raw sugar mixed into the coffee grounds.

Very nice Greg:thumbup: don't think I've ever had a café cubano but I enjoy coffee and that sounds really good.

Thanks Stonebeard.

Here's another: from Sheffield this time. Enjoying a pint of Lancaster Bomber ale and a snack in The Queens Head, Sheffield, while waiting for my train. And yes, I'm now another Porch recipient of our man in Yorkshire, Jack Black's famous generosity. I'm the proud new custodian of his lovely Unity Lambsfoot (among much other largesse). Thanks Jack!

And here's a nearby mural of Harry Brearly, 'Mr Stainless'.

Chin and Jack, that is great stuff:thumbup: Looks as if you gentlemen had a good time. I really enjoyed the historical piece on Old Queen's Head. Thanks for the link.

donn that is just awesome !!!!

These crazy cans lately make my ears hurt, but I'll tolerate it because the beer is awesome haha. I feel like these last few would have gone well with kryptonite or another wild acrylic. I enjoyed this new Modern Times IPA to bring in the weekend. Happy Friday everyone-

Great stuff all around.

I love the contrast of the "Old Queens Head" and the high rise in the background.

That can's pretty crazy, but the beer and your Lambsfoot look outstanding, StoneBeard.

I recently discovered that Freewheel Brewing Company, the local brewery I mentioned that specializes in English style cask ales offers growler fills and is an easy detour on my commute. I took advantage of that tonight and brought home their Freewheel Special Bitter. It's good stuff!

Delicious. Super citrus. For being a 10%er, there's no heat. Fantastic brew. Thank you, StoneBeard!

^^^^ Biggie, Biggie, Biggie, can't you see
Sometimes your [brews] just hypnotize me...

A little R&R for my helper and me after finishing a big cleanup in the garage.
