I allow myself a shot at the end of the day. Pretty smooth stuff!
Nice morticed tang stag on this bowie like knife.

Great photo, Gary! I think "American Honey" is a pretty good description for that stag, too. :D

Thanks StoneBeard [emoji846]
That was a class act gesture by Philadelphia distilling[emoji106] So true it makes it that much more personal with a hand written letter . I felt the same way when I purchased a couple of leather pocket slips from Hitch &Timber . They included with both slips that I purchased a signed card thanking me for my support and purchase hand written by Michael . Thought it was a real classy thought to take the time to do that .
Btw that's a beautiful knife you have there what model and brand is that ? I really like it and the covers are beautiful .
Edit: That Gin looks pretty darn good to !

Thanks TheFactor:thumbup: that is a great story about another dedicated small business and I did enjoy reading about it. The knife is an A Wright and Son Lambsfoot in feathered buffalo horn from Sheffield which was gifted to me some months back by WhittlinAway ( thanks again Greg:thumbup:) It is a great pattern and one I would encourage everyone to try. It is one of my most carried traditionals and grows on me more every day.

Great story! Thanks for sharing. It makes me happy to find out that a product I enjoy is made by a company that is cool and has a personal touch.

Nice pictures, too. They're another strong nudge towards me trying out that tonic syrup recipe you posted. ;)

That's the stuff right there, Mike! Seeing that kind of personalized customer service makes me want to search out Bluecoat Gin and support their distillery! I used to collect $2 bills as a kid, so that nostalgia really plays for me. Beautiful Lambfoot, btw!

Thanks for the kind words fellas, glad you enjoyed the Bluecoat short story.

A little red ale in Kelly's Cellars, Belfast.

Really enjoyed the post  that bone looks perfect with the Irish red.

Hope you're winning the battle with the cold, Jack!
Do copious amounts of whiskey really work? For me, drinking whiskey probably makes me more eager for a fight, but it probably REDUCES my ability to actually win any fights!! :D

Here's an old pic from last summer; it's got me feeling quite nostalgic for summertime, when the livin' is easy, catfish are jumpin' and the cotton is high!

I like that JJ Martinez, the anchor is a really nice touch:thumbup:

Nice story StoneBeard:thumbup: I'm liking that Wright lamb foot also!

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the compliment on the Lambsfoot :D

The amber burnt stag on the Queen looks great:thumbup: I really enjoy Czech beer and always jump at an opportunity to drink a traditional Czech Pilsner.

I enjoyed this double IPA by Highland Park this evening . Another standout IPA brewed with Citra and Galaxy.

I really hope that they made it from real stag. I was hooked by Czech beer when a friend treated me in a bar in Berlin. He said that this specific beer is imported from Czech in barrels and the only bar that has it.

Thanks, Barrett! Good observation. "Honey Stag Bowie" has a nice ring to it.

I decided to make today special and enjoy a treat this morning.

In the cup is a café cubano: a shot of espresso that was pulled with raw sugar mixed into the coffee grounds.

Here it is together with a new recruit, it seemed apt somehow. :) 45% is quite a strong one, but smooth.

Would you mind saying how you make Old Fashioned? Not familiar to me in Europe.

That looks good. I'm a beer drinker, but keep a bottle of Makers Mark in the cupboard for special occasions. I'm not a whiskey connoisseur, so for me, anything that is mild enough that it doesn't immediately melt the hide off a possum, is pretty good stuff.

Too tired to be nervous...been up all night trying to put this ice storm to bed! But brother when this wears off I'm going down hard...

I've been there my friend. That's one reason I moved to Virginia. Didn't work:grumpy: Good luck!

New beer scout (first new traditional for me in about 2 years!), and one of my favorite strong beers, brewed right here in Toronto!

I'm not sure how I managed to get so far behind with this thread! :D Just catching up now after a couple of days away in Sheffield with Cambertree (Chin) :) Here he is, with our first pint together, at The Fat Cat in Sheffield. There were quite a few knives on the table, but they had been replaced by pies at this point! :D

Thanks Stonebeard.

Here's another: from Sheffield this time. Enjoying a pint of Lancaster Bomber ale and a snack in The Queens Head, Sheffield, while waiting for my train. And yes, I'm now another Porch recipient of our man in Yorkshire, Jack Black's famous generosity. I'm the proud new custodian of his lovely Unity Lambsfoot (among much other largesse). Thanks Jack!

And here's a nearby mural of Harry Brearly, 'Mr Stainless'.

Great to see the pics Chin, and I'm glad to see you're a Henderson's convert! :D

Jack and Chin, sounds like you had a grand time and some good pints and eats. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your new Lambsfoot, Chin.
