Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

My daughter and her husband (and their dog) spent the entire week of Thanksgiving visiting us. They've decided that they're going to start a tradition of visiting us "for Christmas" at Thanksgiving, and celebrate Christmas with his family back in Minnesota at the end of December. Makes sense to me, since they've experienced some bad weather and scary driving the past couple of years coming and going from St. Paul MN in late December.

Anyway, when they visit, they usually bring some craft beer for me from the Twin Cities. This year it was several pints of Inbound Peanut Butter Milk Stout, which I thoroughly enjoyed. They also gave me a faux tortoiseshell Rough Ryder sowbelly stockman as a Christmas gift (after I shared part of my wishlist at my favorite Rough Ryder online dealer). I'm thoroughly enjoying the knife, too!

All this Wintery snow covered talk of stouts is realllllly grinding my gears....

Twas the night before Christmas
And all down the road
Meako was squirming
In his truck, like a Toad
The freezers were empty
The people need ice
So we filled em all up
And thought
A beer would be nice.
We came down the mountain in second gear
Thinking of home and that first sip of beer.
The mountain winds steep
and impatient tourists beep.
Speed limits apply and I aint gettin' booked
So impatient tourists can go and get fooked.

Did a Poet just mention stout?
I've drunk to that: New Holland's The Poet is a very satisfying American oatmeal stout, although I miss the old label art in which The Raven is more prominent.
